Hey girls
What exactly is normal when it comes to Braxton hicks???
I'm almost 31 weeks and for the past week at least I have been getting Braxton hicks on and off. They are lasting 8-9 hours at a time and the are getting more and more intense and they are getting closer together. Right now the pain is about a 7. I didn't think Braxton hicks got closer together or longer in length yet mine do. They are also giving me more and more pressure on my cervix. I have been having a bit of redish pink discharge as well and on Friday I went to hospital for it and they said there is no change in my cervix and they did a swab test that says i wont go into labour in the next 2 weeks from normal day to day life so they sent me home but they were so shocked at how intense the contractions are and that they are changing in durency. I'm not over doing it I rest alot during the day. When I get them during the day they are not as intense but still put my heart rate up and hers down. I get the most intense ones at night but My biggest concern about it all is that when I have them my blood pressure goes up to like 115 and my daughters drops to about 110, that doesn't sound good at all and there is no way I can go another 9 weeks of this every day till my c section and it makes me concerned about my daughters well being. What do I do???

Also they dont go away when I change position or what I'm doing they get alot more intense when I am walking and in the bathtub and I was under the assumption that Braxton hicks go away once you change position, what I'd going on with my body, and help or tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm scared to have my daughter here this early

I had BH starting at 15 weeks, but they have never been painful...more uncomfortable than anything. If you're having pain with the contractions you should contact your doctor and/or midwife....play it safe. :hugs:

If you have more than 5 an hour and if they are painful I'd get yourself checked out, because you are still so early.

Well I seen him at hospital as he was doctor that checked me out I was just shocked he didn't say much more will have to give him a ring in the am
Thanks Hun
I have had them from bout 15 or so weeks as well but never painful and I had then from 18 or so weeks on with my son and they were never painful now he was breech but I don't think that rele makes a difference in any matter
Will just have to give doc a call in the morning and see what he says I suppose

Well that's what I mean I'm still so early it just doesn't make sense how that test came back that I wasn't gonna go into labour and my cervix wasn't dilating and now it's still getting worse

I get told to just sleep and rest haha makes me laugh cause there is no way I can sleep whilst they happening

:hugs:

Yeah I think cause they're getting painful now you should just get yourself checked again.
Also cause they're getting closer together, sounds like real labor contractions to me and not Braxton Hicks.

Well they were getting closet together that night and painful but no change.
But I know that baby being under stress is not good regardless on whether they are real or not, I don't think keeping her in there another 8 weeks is safe for her even if they are not changing my cervix because I'm sure 110 for her heartbeat for like 8-9 hours at a time atleast once a day is not safe and I think if they continue to come with no change in cervix I'm going to ask for her delivery to be abit earlier if possible

I would go and ask them to give you an i.v. with fluids because b.h. tend to come strong when one is dehydrated. Until you can get seen again I would drink lots of water too. Good luck. Hopefully they stop and she stays put for a few more weeks at least! :)

How much water should you be drinking a day. I drink at least 10 glasses a day of water on top of milk and juices
I was under the assumption that was plenty my doctor told me that was mote than enough, perhaps not I guess
