Is this normal

This morning (about 10ish) I had a very near positive, I almost thought it was positive at first. so decided to test again this afternoon (around 12:30) to see if it had got darker an become a true positive. But instead it was much lighter. I'm CD 16 and going mad waiting for O as I think I have a short LP but the is the first month of properly charting to find out if I do. I just need to hurry up and O and get through the next week to see if I do or not.
Is it normal for the test to be lighter as the day goes on?

Could it be that you had diluted urine? Usually I test around 10 or 11 in the morning and its the darkest. Anything after that is usually lighter but not a huge difference.
