Is this really such a bad idea for her nursery

I'm ashamed to say that Erin STILL has no nursery. Her cot is in our room anyway so its not such a big deal, but I really want to put her in her own room soon. Problem is, DH and I can't agree on how to do it up. The painter/decorator is coming at 7.30 on monday morning so I need to decide! Before Erin was born we bought the I Love Bear wall paper (I'm sure some of you know it...) and I was thinking of doing the top half of the walls in wall paper and painting the bottom half of the walls (thinking a light pink but not really sure) and then doing a border in the middle to divide the two. DH thinks this is a rubbish idea and thinks it will look like something out of the 1970's and we just had a big fight about it. I dont' think it will and I'm tempted just to go ahead and do it.

Is this really such a terrible idea? If anyone else has done something similar can you post a picture so that I could show him that its not so bad?

Thank you in advance...

Its ok, Harley doesn't have a nursery, she shares a room with me, she has a crib but doesn't even sleep in it, and thats the closet to a nursery as I get lol.

I think a feature wall of patterned wallpaper then the other walls painted looks nice and more modern than a border. Take your wallpaper sample down to B&Q now and get a nice toning paint!

For my baby's nursery (done when he was 5 months!) all walls are painted pale blue with a big blue cartoon zebra transfer on the wall where his cot is.

I like the feature wall idea as well. My son's room is painted Tiffany Blue, with one white feature wall that has a big yellow tree painted on it.

I am all about color. :)

Samantha I love that! And I usually don't like yellow!

AC81 I like the idea of doing one wall in the wallpaper. It might look kind of weird to do 1/2 and 1/2, unless the room has the... what's it called... like the wooden border around the middle of the room? sorry if that didn't make sense.

I like Jenstar and Samanthas idea... I love Brenns room!

I like the feature wall look, it has a classy, modern look to it. Chose a nice accent paint to match the wallpaper.

Ahhh. Nataliecn has an awesome nursery.

Look up wall murals on the sears website & see if you like that kinda thing. I think she has the jungle one but there's castles and stuff

Ellie only just got a nursery and she still only sleeps in it in the daytime. Your idea sounds great men havent a clue when it comes to interior design. I didnt let karl get a look in with Ellies room i went bright pink with chandleir the lot lol.

I love those wall murals, I cant wait until we have our next house and I can decorate up a playroom!

I agree with just a feature wall with the wallpaper and then the rest maybe the light punk that you were talking about!

I have to disagree here. My OH did our sons room and I think its pretty cool for a baby. The border half way up is great as its the same height as his changing table and keeps him amused.
