well as the title says really. my lil princess is 11weeks now, she has been sleeping thru since she was born aprt from the odd wake up, now she sleeps pretty much 11-12 hours at night with no waking up in between. when i told health visitor about this she said no you should not be doing that.
but to be honest, she gets fed 4oz every 2hours in the day she as her last bottle at half 10 when i put her to bed, then i give her a dream feed at 1-2 and she stays asleep, she dnt sleep much during day just a few half hour naps here and there. so shes obvs tired and well fed to stay asleep that long. am i doin something really wrong? ive got a son aswell who never used to sleep was up evry 2hours in night as my girls age. i dont see any harm in the way ive got this set out, shes a very contented baby, hardly cries at all. always smilin and tryin to laugh :flower:

would you say this is ok? as i personaly would

i know health visitirs like to boss people around and what ever most of them dnt have kids.

I'm so new to all this so I really don't know but I would have thought so as long as she's putting on weight, then it's fine. The pediatrician who discharged me from hospital when I had my baby 2 weeks ago said to feed my baby on demand as he was born full term and a healthy weight. So that's what I do. I know your baby is older but I'd imagine it's fine. I'm pretty sure you aren't the only one who does this. It just seems a bit mean to wake a sleeping baby for food if they don't necessarily want it. From my very little experience, they seem to let you know when they want something so if she is happy to sleep all through, then I think it's probably fine. But like I say, I'm so new to all this so I may be wrong x

Yeah i feed on demand aswell and she duz let me knw whn she wants something so if she was hungry she would defo let me knw. But health visitors talk to u like your stupid. Do u find tht? Shes puting weight on fine. Im nt worried but just wanted to ask what people thought about it xx

My little man has been sleeping anywhere from 7-8hours to 11 hours since he was about 10 weeks old - he's 16 weeks now. I don't think he takes anywhere near enough milk but he's gaining weight and the HV is really pleased with him so I am ery grateful for a good nights sleep! :) x

Hehe aww. Defo thankful for a good nyts sleep aswel, shes obvz tired to sleep that long. Im just gonna ignore the health visitor. Im lucky that she sleeps as i knw other peoples babies her age hardly sleep at nyt. Xx
