Forgive me as i feel incredible thick :D

How does isofix work?

Im going to hopefully pass my test soon and purchase a Honda Jazz.

It says it comes with Isofix .. so what do i do.

Do i have to buy an isofix base? and then an isofix carseat to go on?

Or .. Do i just buy an isofix carseat and it goes directly in the car iykwim?

Anyone have a honda jazz and what isofix carseat do you use.

Thankssss.

For first seats (0 or 0+ groups), you buy an isofix base and just slot the seat on top of that.

For all the other seat groups, the seats have the isofix anchors attached to them, so no base is required. You just attach the seat directly to the isofix points.

MaxiCosi now do a base unit which you use for both the baby car seat and the next stage up. This was introduced after we had our first LO so I can't tell you much about it, but assume that the only difference is that the group 1 seat doesn't have the anchors attached as a base unit is still used.

Hope that makes sense! x

Also just because the car has isofix doesn't mean you have to use it, you can use a regular seat in it as well

I have had seat belt attached car seats for the cars we go in group 0 and then one thats for toddler to child FF but thought isofix would just be more sturdy .... As it goes after doing a bit of googling it seems its best to stick with rear facing so for DD2 will keep her in her baby one for now then get her an ERF :)
