IUI 42 hours post trigger, is that normal?

Just a note on the Femara dosage. In March I took 7.5 and in April I took 12.5. The difference was that things grew slower with the lower dose but the count was the same. So on 7.5 I had a 30 day cycle and ovulated around day 15. On 12.5 I ovulated on day 12 with a 23 day cycle. I had ~3 large follcles both times. Good lucky Holly!! You so deserve to get your HPT!

PCOSMom- things going ok?

Just waiting for this pesky cyst to vanish ... sadly it's just growing. Going back on Monday to get re-scanned. Wish I could just take a needle to the stomach and poke that thing!:haha:

Just wanted to add my two cents.. for the ovidrel, you can refrigerate it and it will last until the expiration date or you could keep it at room temp for like 28 days or so. Soo..I think you are ok even if you never refrigerated it. Also, my office does the IUI at 36 hrs post trigger, but they said they used to do it at 42 hours. My doc refers to studies a lot, and I think it didn't use to matter whether it was 24 or up to 42 hrs post trigger. I'm not sure what the current literature says, but my office did change it to 36 so who knows... don't know if that made any sense, lol.. Good luck to everyone this cycle! Holly, I know what you mean about planning the next cycle.. I'm already doing that and I'm only 2dpiui.. haha!

Bepaisley, don't throw in the towel!! O:) With my last IUI, I was told to trigger any time after 6 pm on a Thursday, and the IUI was scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday, so about 40 hours later. I had only 1 follie and I got a :bfp:

Fingers crossed for you and all the other ladies!

Aww Michelle thanks for the feedback, I came on to say congrats and saw you had a miscarriage. So devastating after finally getting a BFP, hope you get lucky again this round and thanks again for the hope!

Btw michelle we have the exact same problem, I have elevated prolactin also, are u on cabergoline and metformin? I hate all the meds!

Haha already thinking of next cycle, same here and my IUIs scheduled for Monday.
Oh well guess it's good we are not going to have a meltdown if we get a BFN this month since the next is already planned?! I have already planned up to my IVF lol
I haven't tried injectables and IUI yet so am guessing I'll do that next, sigh, can't i just skip to the being pregnant part of it all?!

Yes, that is sort of how I feel.. I am trying to just prepare myself for the long haul that way it doesn't hurt as bad- well, it still hurts bad- but just maybe that I can hopefully pick myself up a little quicker if need be. I hope you don't need to worry about any more months or steps!! :hugs:

thank you :hugs: That's interesting to know.. I have a free bottle of it so I must admit I'm half tempted to take a higher dose next month if it doesn't work this month.

28 days.. goodness! well, then I'm definitely fine! Thank you!

I am racking my brains trying to figure out the reasoning behind the time discrepancies for the IUI's. I just don't get it.. I had mine just about 24 hours from the trigger- and it would have been less if I had followed my doc's instructions. It's supposedly one of the top 10 fertility clinics in the country so I feel like I'm an idiot not to listen to them.. but still.. I mean- EVERYONE else is usually 36 hours. We shall see what happens in about 2 weeks!

Best of luck to you!!!

Bepaisley- This is my first round of IUI, so I don't know a lot about it. But my doc has me triggering between 1-4pm Saturday and IUI at 10:45 on Monday. So, I think that like 37 hours. It sounds like our doctors are the same page with the timing. Guess we'll be going through the 2 week wait together! :)

FXd for us all! 2ww is gonna be such a drag, I remember going crazy after just 3 days lol, this time I have a vacation planned near the end so atleast I'll have that to keep my mind off of it. Plus last month i joined this site which realllllly helps me cuz i had no one else to talk/complain to.
Holly, maybe they want the sperm waiting for when the egg drops? I feel like that makes more sense than having the egg drop then putting in the sperm. Or maybe it really doesn't make a difference, try no to stress about it too much, i was at first but feel like its out of our hands now which isn't necessarily a bad thing at this point.

O also Vegas, dunno if ur nervous or not about ur first IUI, I def was and couldn't eat all morning! But seriously didn't hurt even a little bit for me, everyone said it's like a pap and after all my infertility testing I couldn't rem if the pap had hurt or not so was scared. All they told me was to come with a full bladder, makes it easier on them, for me I did back to back IUIs and first day I didn't drink enough so my bladder wasn't full and then next day it was I didn't feel a difference...except I hate having a full bladder for anything! Makes me antsy lol

I am on cabergoline, but that and the clomid are the only meds I am on. Before I went to the FS, my regular doc had me on 50 mg of clomid for a couple months, which helped shorten my cycles, but that was about it. When the FS did the whole panel of bloodwork, they discovered the prolactin problem, so at least that explained why the clomid alone didn't work. While having PCOS sucks, I know I am lucky to not have most of the issues that women with PCOS have.

The m/c was devastating, but I'm now at the place where I can look at it and say I got pregnant on the 1st IUI that was timed properly, and I only had to use the minimal meds possible. At least I know I can do it now! With my 1st IUI, my follie measured about 19 and they weren't going to trigger me until it got bigger, but I started to get the LH surge on my own, so they had me do the trigger that night with the IUI the next day. I knew that cycle was probably not going to work, so I wasn't really even upset at the :bfn:. The 2nd one was timed perfectly and my follie was over 21 the day I triggered.

Fingers crossed for you! :dust:

I just wanted to give my 2 cents - my last IUI was done at 24 hours and 48 hours after the trigger. didn't work. My RE likes to do 24 hours, he says that he wants sperm to get into fallopian tubes and wait for the egg. However, I always feel that I ovulate 36+ hours after the shot.

My RE did two last cycle as well, but I think maybe they did only one this time because of the weekend, which I'm not too happy about. But I felt like it was a bust ever since I saw there was one egg when there were 2 last time. I'm trying to stay positive but honestly am just looking forward to next cycle because he said we'd try somethig new. Hopefully something that will create more eggs!
