I was wondering if I could find out other ladies experiences with IUI. Please answer the questions below:

1. # of IUI's

2. Sperm Count for each IUI

3. Were the successful?

I've had two IUI's. My first IUI was a BFN with a 7.5 million washed count. My second IUI was today, with a 3.25 million washed count >.< We have another IUI scheduled tomorrow. I'm hoping to hear some other counts so that I can feel more positive about other ladies + IUI's with lower sperm count. Thank you ladies!

I also should mention I had two follies, 21x23 and 23x23! Thanks ladies!

Hi babybumpage- Though the total number of washed sperm does seem to be related to the success of IUI (ideal no. being over 20 mil washed sperm) but its definitely not the only factor. There have been women on BnB who have conceived on IUIs on under 5 mil also. According to my doc she usually wants to try upto 6 IUIs if there is no female infertility, but post 3 unsuccessful IUIs (assuming timing etc was perfect in all 3) she would like to look into female infertility (like endo/pcos/ovarian reserve)

Two follicles is good for an IUI. Most fertility clinics do not do IUIs if the no. is more than 3. So I would think u are in a good position. Wishing you all the best

I know I don't have much info yet... but I want to post so I don't lose track of the thread or forget to add my info!

1. # of IUI's: 1st one is in about 9 hours!

2. Sperm Count for each IUI: 11.5million motile sperm! (I was incorrect on the 33mil thing from the SA... that wasn't the motile count!)

3. Were the successful? I hope? :winkwink:

At my u/s on Thur, I had 6 follies between 13-14mm that should have all made it to 19-20mm by the time I triggered (~25.5 hours ago)! I get the impression that 6 is A LOT for IUI! I realize my chances of twins might be quite high... but that means my chances of at least 1 should be huge. I'll take the chance. I always thought I'd have twins one day! As long as I get at least one healthy baby, I'm less than concerned!

I had 2 IUI's before conceiving. The sperm count was always good/never an issue for us but I can't remember the numbers. All throughout my first IUI cycle, I felt like it was not going to work. I kept thinking (and hoping) that it would be the second IUI that would be the winner. The second IUI cycle was after a cancelled cycle and then a break and everything just seemed to respond and time so well. Although I only had one good size follicle, I felt very hopeful and was blessed to have that cycle work for us. All the best to you. :flower:

Updated mine with motile sperm count. Waiting to answer the "successful?" question though!
