Anyone else doing an IUI without clomid or injectables? Most people I see seem to be using clomid.

I expect ovulation around Jan 6 - 7. Our clinic asked me to use OPKs (ughh I just having to decide if a line is stronger or lighter) and call on the day i see surge.

Any advice for me? Anyone wanna join up?

Why is the clinic asking you to only use an opk?

They said they would monitor if I ever on clomid, but they didn't think they needed to since I wasn't on meds. Hopefully I won't mess up the timings!

That's exactly what I just went through twice :) No meds, only OPKs :) No success either time, but I am blaming my donor sperm as no one has acheived pregnancy with his yet.

I had IUI without medications last month but no success. I was also asked to just use OPK and go to the doctor when I get a positive result.
Actually before the IUI procedure, the doctor asked us if we still wanted to proceed because my hubby's sperm morphology that day was only 1% and doc said that chances for success is very low and she didn't want to waste our money. But we still went on with it anyhow.

I am thinking of going for IUI with meds or what they call SO-IUI on February but I guess I have to postpone that because the costs are quite high and I can't afford it right now because I'll be jobless soon.

Hi,

I did IUI without meds for my daughter (baby #1). I had no reason to believe I had any fertility problems (except for the lack of a man in the house), so the doctor recommended we just try a few times without medication. They did do a follicle scan on CD13, a Monday, verified one was developing, though it was still small. On Thursday, CD 15, I got a positive OPK, and they did the IUI on Friday morning. It worked. First try!

I am now trying for baby #2. Last month we pretty much repeated the above process, but got a BPN. Due to the Christmas holiday, we weren't able to do a follicle scan this time, so going entirely on the OPK. I had two IUIs this time, one on 12/26 and one on 12/27. So now we're just waiting...

My advice to you...a non-medicated IUI can definitely work! If you are not sure you'll be able to read the OPK, then get the digital ones - they are great!
