Granted I have quite a high BMI but this seems crazy. The last time I lost so much weight in a week I was 253lbs, had a BMI of 52 and was eating 1000 calories a week (stupidly enthusiastic about starting a diet in Jan 2015).

I feel like I eat a lot, after dieting for almost a whole year at about 1500cal I am sure I eat twice as much now.

Is this likely some weird anomaly? Has it happened to anyone else? I could do with losing weight but not at this rate. My BMI is about 36. I am 81.9kg and had got to 74kg before pregnancy but got depressed with a miscarriage in early October and piled some weight on.

I too am overweight and although I don't weigh myself I can tell that I have lost weight. Sometimes if I have been on low cal and I eat a lot more my metabolism gets boosted and I lose more weight for a brief time. I'm not sure if this could be the same for you but as long as the baby is ok I don't think it is important to gain when you're already overweight. My baby has a great hr and is a good size so it hasn't worried me. I think nutrition means more than calories.

That's true, I eat so much better now than with my other kids. Instead of a burger king meal and a chocolate bar, I'll have some salmon, an avocado, cream cheese, some roasted broccoli and a huge glass of water.

The same thing happened to me. 4 lbs in a week. It's possible that you've been a little more active this week and... I think it could also be poop weight. lol I know that sounds silly. I say it because when the guys (Marines) have to weigh in, they take laxatives to lose a couple of extra lbs.

I have been a lot more active with my son starting school and lots of walking. Never done a 4lb dump before though lol!

Haha well I know when school started back up is when I lost 4 lbs too

I've logged my food today in myfitnesspal, I thought I was eating a lot but am only at 500kcal at 4pm (just under). I'm not hungry but will make myself eat something. My average TDEE is 2600kcal at this weight.

This could easily be water weight and having a bowel movement(sorry tmi), that happens to me and my bmi is 21. It's not something to worry about, your body while pregnant is shifting and changing. Not something to worry about. My husband is a personal trainer(for over 20 yrs) and sees this all the time with his clients!

I don't get changes in water weight (usually) because I eat very low carb. I don't think I have for a good year or so? I used to get wildy swinging weight changes when I was a carb junky. My weight is down again this morning by another 200g!

I poo every 2 days and that doesn't seem to effect my weight. I'm a serial weigher and weigh every day usually.

Just keep in mind water weight is not solely based on carb consumption. Are you eating some form of carbs though? I hope so!! Starchy veggies?
Either way though, water weight fluctuates in pregnancy especially. Sodium etc is another part in it (which is in everything).
It's really not something to worry about...your body will adjust as you progress through pregnancy. 4lbs really isn't a huge concern, if you had dropped 10+ lbs then possibly.
If you are concerned though check with your midwife, or Doctor. Likely they won't be concerned though.
All of us fluctuate weight day to day, my husband always tells his clients to avoid the scale on a daily basis because it fluctuates THAT much. Hang in there and try not to worry!!
