Hi all
about to start ivf in dec/jan(if i ever decide on a clinic!)
have been reading a lot about high protein diets/ milk shakes etc and wondered if anyone has any info about them while on ivf-when do you take them etc?
Want to give myself the best chance
also feed back/info on clinics would be good so far i have looked at norway and care manchester as well as the lister and a few other London clinics
I have to look at the stats for old chicks-me 40 mental age 21(if that)
any advice is welcome-you ladies are all so knowledgeable and helpful x

Hi,
I am starting my first round of IVF in 2 weeks. I would be interested to hear views on diet and protein drinks too.
I am at oxford for NHS treatment (only 1 round:growlmad:)
I see am accupuncturist who is very knowledgable about clinics etc and he has said very positive things about The Lister.
Good luck!

I ate a high protien when I started IVF, I usually don't eat many carbs anyway but when doing the IVF I pretty much cut them out all together.

I stuck with my high fiber cereal for breakfast, but for lunch I would eat meat and salad and dinner was usually just straight protien, which was meat and eggs (not cooked in oil) or sometimes just meat and veg (no potatoe) snacks I ate yoghurt and I drunk heaps of fluids and at least 1 glass of powerade a day.

I don't know if doing this heaped my situation or I was just lucky, but i thought what the heck I will try anything for this to work.

Good luck :hugs:

Hi
We are going with Manchester fertility services when we have saved enough money. Been for our first consultation with Mr Nysenbaum he was recommended to me I really liked him he was very positive but also made us aware of the down sides. I honestly feel in safe hands. Have you met with anyone yet ? Have you had all your pre treatment tests done? Good luck and keep us updated x

Haven't actully had appointment but have seen FS here my bloods are all ok execpt fsh was 9.6 but because I have been trying over a year and I am 40(nearly 41) he recommended ivf he said there is no reason why I am not getting pg other than my age
Manchester Care looks good-its all so confusing plus i will have the extra hassle of travelling to mainland uk as ivf in NI is limited and not much good
will keep you posted thanks for the info x
