IVF NHS funding

Hi ladies

How are you all doing??

I have just been referred for IVF on the NHS in Portsmouth.
They had no idea how long it would take to come through at my fertility clinic!! surely this is the fisrt thing people ask!

Can anyone tell me how long you waited from filling in the referral form to when you received the funding. I know it differs from PCT to PCT but would be nice to have some idea

as you said it varies area to area...

hope it works out for you but I see from your sig you have an angel, dont want to worry you but I have heard of a woman being turned down because she had a miscarriage that classed as 'having a pregnancy/previous child' so she no longer qualified for IVF on the NHS but that might be the post code lottery

I had last appointment 17th Feb to sign forms and go bk 31st march to confirm funding then should get first appointment within 3 months to start ivf, I'll be going to Southampton,complete fertility

Hi we live in Nottingham,

I had my final appointment on 4 November 2013 with the fertility clinic and were told we could have IVF at Nurture.

We had our letter and forms from Nurture just before Christmas (around 15th December 2013) and had baseline SA, Ultrasound and blood tests done on 6 January (you book this when you get your next period), then an appointment to see the consultant and discuss the results on 29 January 2014, and also to sign consent forms (oh so many forms) and started down regulation injections on 14 February 201. Im in for egg collection on Monday 10 March 2014.

The IVF process has gone quite quickly for us, i think we were lucky!! It was the wait before IVF that took almost 2 years!! Keeping everything crossed for you xxxxxxxxx

Hi I live in Sheffield, we got referred for IVF on the NHS December 2010, started our stimms etc April 2011. Hope you don't have too long to wait and best of luck to you x

how did you get funding if you already have a son?

Ive never heard of funding for a 2nd child on the NHS... heard you cant even get funding for a first child if you have step child

Sorry I think you misread? We conceived my son through IVF he is my only child x
