JSA and Mat allowance

Hi
Can anyone help, if u are on jobseekers allowance, and are entitled to maternity allowance, I know u can claim mat allowance from 29th week, does ayone know if u still get the £123pw if changing over from JSA or if u continue to get JSA amount throughout? (i.e £64 per week)

It will go through whether you are entitled to it, I think you get one benfit or the other. If you are on maternity, you can't really look for work. You might be able to get help with other things like housing benefits etc

You cant claim both at the same time. I was on JSA then MA then had to reapply for JSA when MA stopped.I'm on contribution based unfortunatley, so having had 39 weeks of maternity pay means I can now only claim JSA for a limited period

why can you only get jsa for a limited period after mat pay?how long ?

Thats just my situation because I am only entitled to contributions based JSA I can get so much, based on how my NI I paid in a certain amount of time

I was on MA and it has recently stopped, Do you think that i would be able to get JSA even tho i live with my bf? Or are you not entitled to anything afterwards. Help!

i live with my bf and get contributions based JSA. He earns too much for me get income based but because I have paid x amount of NI over the yeats I am entitled to contributions based, which they will give for 6 months.

You do have to be able to and actively seek work to get it though, and they do check up on you

My friend isnt allowed JSA simply because her OH has a good income, he earns too much.

my dad isnt entitld to it because he has savings, but they do pay his stamps so its worth ringing and asking
