I never got my period with either girls until i stopped bf....................hope it's the same this time!

Hi! I was hoping I could join you here in June bugs!?! I think you moved over here from 3rd tri but I never posted as I was supposed to be a July bump (12th) but Dylan came 6 weeks early on dh's birthday, June 3rd!! After almost 2 weeks in hospital we're home and gaining weight well,he was 6lb2oz at birth so would have been a whopper full term baby. We're breastfeeding which is going really well at the moment and have our 6 week check-ups tomorrow. Although he's sleeping about 3-4 hours at night, he's started doing some 'whimpering' every 5-10 minutes that has been keeping us up the last couple nights and I think I've become an insomniac!
How is everyone else coping with not a lot of sleep or do most of you have babies that sleep through already???

Think we are all in the same boat mrsbean xxx

hi ladies,
just started to get a little time for the internet today.
how are your babies?
well Danie feeds every hour at night. he seems to like a very cool environment but since this is africa i had to put on the a/c at 25'c to help him sleep and give him about 30-40 mls of warm water slowly to help him sleep and curb colic pains.
how are you all coping?
nice to interact with you all again

my baby can't fall asleep.. it really depresses me, I spent all day rocking her to sleep, once she finally sleeps she is up again after 5-30 minutes and tired and it all starts again. She slept twice today for 30 or 40 minutes, surely that can't be enough? As long as I pick her up on my arm and rock her try settling her she doesn't really cry unless it takes much too long and she doesn't get to sleep. I am getting really stressed as my DD2 needs me too and I simply can't be spending all day rocking baby to sleep or doing other stuff to get her off. It all used to be fine but has been getting worse over the last 10 days or so.

Sorry for the rant, I guess there is no advice, I have tried so many things you wouldn't believe it. At night it is better, she usually goes back down and then sleeps for 2-3 hrs she is awake from between 10 mins - 1 hour when she wakes... but she just can't sleep in the day and getting her off for the night took 2 hrs last night!!

Linn-that might be colic pain disturbing her. at times they prefer to be rocked or held when they have it just for distraction. try giving her warm water [about 30-40mls] slowly. that could help her relax and sleep better. warm milk also helps but water is more effective

Well we had :sex: last night and all went well!! Poor OH was scared he was going to hurt me! Was quite sweet really xx

We still haven't dtd :( I'm still a bit sore down there and convinced that any interaction in that department is going to rub me raw again...better to wait another week and try then, than try to early and leave myself in agony for another 3 weeks, right?!! But it's bloody frustrating. :(

Bean is being a pain in the butt this morning...woke up at 8am and hasn't slept since (it's 11:45am now)... I'd like to put her on my boob to see if she'll go to sleep, but she's been vomiting everywhere shortly after feeding on my boob...every time...so I'm scared!! Urgh.

Bring on 6 weeks and the magical decrease in fussiness :lol:

xx

thanks chiefs wife, didn;t think she was in pain, she won't take water from a bottle unfortunetely. maybe she got reflux? she spit up several times today! I have no idea, I got the impression she finds it hard to wind down and once she is, she keeps opening her eyes just a little bit for ages. She think she would sleep on me all day and all night if I let her! I would if I didn't have DD1. I know she is only small once and she needs me and I wish I could split myself in half sometimes!

Welcome mrsbean.. Congratulations :happydance:

Hello again chiefs wife good to see you back :)

Linn if she likes being rocked so much have you got a swing? Xxx

sorry Linn. i know how it feels, believe me i do feel your pain. at times i feel the same and i would wish i could divide myself into several bits or have multiple body parts or at least 4 more hours in a day. i.e 28 hours a day to be able to attend to all the kids, bu5t the little ones need more attention and one just has to find a way out.
could you try using a 5ml spoon to give the water? i.e 6 spoons. please try it if you have n't ,it might work and make her sleep

welcome Mrsbean
KD-try rinsing your boobs with some water[normal temp or a little cold] before feeding her to see how she reacts.that helps with the throwing out of the feed sometimes.

I am new to this post,I am coming over from plus-size bump pics... I had my son Raydynn on June 23rd Via c-section, this is my first child and I have lots of questions...

If anyone can help me, My son just turned 3 weeks old yesterday and he is already eating 4 ounces at a time, I dont know if this is normal or even healthy, he doesnt spit up alot (what baby doesnt spit up occasionally) and if i try to give him less than that he will scream until he gets more... The only problem I have noticed is that he seems to be really constipated, his dr told me to try putting KARO syrup in his formula but it hasnt really helped, he seems to really struggle to poop and I dont know what else I can do to help him... :nope:

Another question I have is, I have heard of baby acne, but he is peeling really bad... He has been for about a week now and I want to make sure this is normal, he does have the little pimples all over, but I am worried that he is too dry, it is all around his forehead, his tummy and his hands and feet (wrists and ankles as well) Can anyone help me?

I got a swing she doesnt like it, but anyway I just want her to sleep.. she woke up every hour last night!! I feel dizzy and sick all the time cause I'm so tired... I can't eat, I am losing so much weight.. and I am really not happy!!!

welcome second chance it is perfectly normal that he is peeling. He will have all nice soft skin soon, you can put olive oil in his bath to help.

Hi Second Chance, try rubbing olive oil or sunflower oil on his skin. Dylan had a bit of dry skin and wherever I saw a bit of dry skin I'd just get out the olive oil and rub some on! Since then I've been to baby massage where they suggest using sunflower oil as well.
Can't help with the poo'ing issue though, but the baby acne should go away with time! Congrats, Raydynn is adorable!!

Welcome Mrs Bean Bump and Second Chance - sorry I'm not around at the minute I am finding it so hard to keep things going - Nathan wants constant feeding and he cries so much between feeds so I'm struggling to work as well - I am going to introduce Aptimil next week if he hasnt gained weight - I have also ordered some Medela nipple shields they are supposed to be better than the Phillips Avent ones as you can choose your size so your nipples still get stimulated and it should help with the supply. I expressed yesterday - didnt get much about 80ml over a few sittings but it didnt hurt and it did help my breasts be fuller this morning. Nathan is asleep on my lap now as I'm typing, he will wake and cry if I move him so for now he can stay where he is and I can get some emails replied to - work is backing up and I am at my wits end with it all.

Anyway whooo hooo Em on dtd!!!! Is it ok to do it that soon after CS? I must say I think I'll be back in action sooner than I thought, I miss being close to P - we seem to be fighting alot atm with all the crying. Oh my, I wasnt prepared for this little boy to totally take over my life and sanity!

OMG Lili at the bleeding, not looking forward to my period! My bleeding has almost stopped, just a tiny bit now and then so I'm happy with that and my scar seems to have healed ok as well, mw said to rub nivea in to massage it - my belly still feels a bit numb though. How long before we can exercise after CS - I want to get on the treadmill and have some me time for an hour every day when he's asleep!!! When being the operative word... Good tip about the breast pad too, although mine have stopped leaking since using the Avent shields....

Linn hope you have a better day sweetie and CJ where are you - I emailed you earlier but I'm worried now :hugs:

E&L hope you're ok - not long before MIL goes now!

Nathan has little pimples on his cheeks that have come over the last few days - I dont know what to do I'm just washing with water atm. Olive oil worked for his dry ankle skin too. Oh and his cord fell off on Tuesday did I tell you? Looks like its healing well.

Love me xxx
