just a bit of advice plz

a few of you will kno that iv had 4m/cs, last lost on the 8th march 10, im now expecting again had a scan last monday 19/4/10, was told nothing at all, just to start clexane injections again, did it last pregnancy only tk for 8 days bfor i mcd, anyway this time all seems ok, i feel fine in general, but where i've done the injections on the lower left n right side of my stomach, i hav a hard lump n it's painful, awful bruising aswell, the injections r getting to be a nightmare, although im only 5 mayb 6 wks i look 5mths, (in normal circumstances im a size 8 to 10), sorry to go on, now the question.. how long will i hav to do the injections for? and is excessive bruising n lumps normal due to injecting in the same area...

Hi Dakron,

So sorry to hear of your losses, sounds like you have been through a really hard time. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the injections that you have to take. Do you need to keep doing them in the same place? I assume that your body is just not liking them happening regularly.

I would try calling your doctor, my surgery will speak with you over the phone so maybe yours will if you can't get in for an appointment.

thank you hun, can't get to speak to our dr over the phone unfortunatly, all i realy know about the injection is that it's a blood thinner n iv been told have to do it no closer than 5cm from bellybutton, n alternate the side i have to do it, it's horrible but if we get a baby from it then it will all be worth while, thanx again...donna xxx

Hi Dakron
I am also doing clexane injections & find them painful, I'm sure they have shown you how to do them but I find if I lightly pinch up a bit of flab before I inject & do not rub it makes it slightly easier. How long you are on this medication depends on your doctor & his reason for giving it to you, some people have it for a few weeks others untill 48 hours before birth (which will have to be planned if still on clexane). I also inject into the top of my leg rather than tummy so maybe if you speak to your drs office they will say its ok to inject there as well & give you tummy a break. If you are at all worried call your Drs office & speak to a health proffesional that can get you answers to your questions, never be afraid to ask. I have never regretted asking a question at my Drs but have regretted not asking a few in my time, sorry if that sounds chessy but its true.

Sorry that I couldn't really answer your question but hope I have helped a bit, the girls in gestional complications are really helpful, so might be worth posting in that section for advise.

thank you girls for your advice, n best wishes, managed to get an appointment with my dr today, she said the lump i could feel was internal bruising, nothing to worry about just suggested that i move round the area on my tummy rather than trying to do each injection within millimeters of each other, the hospital told me i had to do it in my tummy although i did ask about doing it in my leg, dr said becos of having 4m/cs n they think the reason is sticky blood, i'll hav 2 do jabs rite through, but did say they could tell me to stop at 7mths as it would be safe for a baby to be born at this stage, so guess i'll hav to wait n see, the good news was that when she asked how i was n i said felt really sick, she said that wasn't bad as sickness usually kicks in around 6 to 8 wks, which means reguarding my mc history im nearly safe, thanx again girls n good luck....donnaxxx
