I have to see the specialist tomorrow - is bubba likely to get poorly? She's recently started measuring very big. I'm seeing the nutritionist tomorrow morning to get a diet plan and a glucose monitor.

It sounds like they may bring her out a little early, does anyone know what week they usually do it?
Thanks in advance - I'm worried that I've been making her poorly without even knowing

xx

oh sorry to hear that.. but hopefully everything will be alright as I know many had GD and everything turned ok..
Some do induce in 38wks some wait to later depends on your personal situation i guess.

Really wish your next couple of weeks go smoothly hun

Sorry hun :( Don't worry though- I think that the docs will be able to help you with a plan so that you and baby are safe and healthy.

When did you have your first test that came back negative? It's mad that you suddenly now have it. But I'm sure its all good news, and they will monitor you really closely for this last bit of your pregnancy to ensure bubba is safe and well.

My first test was at 28 weeks which was negative. They've been talking about bubba arriving early and have said it's unlikely they will let me go to term - she's measuring 2-3 weeks ahead at present.

I have no idea what I should be eating for tea :haha: considering having one last take away before being really strict when I get my monitor and diet stuff tomorrow.

TBH ~I can;t fault the care I;ve had.

33+4 - saw MW, measured big
34 - Scan and consultant appointment - measuring ahead
34+4 - saw MW measuring bigger still +ve for glucose
34+5 - GTT - came back positive
34+6 - seeing nutritionist
35+4 - transferred to bigger hospital, meet new consultant.

all quite quick

aww hun. but at least u no now whats going on. my best friend had gd with her boy. was induced at 38 weeks x

Oh no. Not great hearing news like that, but hope your not too worried :flower:

A lady I know had her baby boy at 37 weeks, induced, because of GD. He was fine, 7lbs something I think he was, and he had been measuring big.

Try not to worry, at least they can keep a proper eye on you now they know.
xx

sorry to hear that :(

they will monitor growth now and they will talk to u about your diet and the baby checks they need to do after delivery.alot of women have gd and everythings fine x

I found out at 32 weeks and had to be place on medication b/c my numbers wouldn't cooperate. I'm being induced at 39 weeks. My dr waits til 39 unless there are other complications. The baby is weighing in at about 7lbs 4oz right not which they say is a little big, but I know people who didn't gave GD who had 8-10 lb babies.

I've got GD and apart from keeping an eye on bloods and an extra growth scan that's all that's happened!
Baby is measuring fine and my glucose results were only slighty above.
Midwife asked me if the hospital had mentioned me being induced early but they haven't! Wouldn't mind being induced at 38 weeks tho! Lol!

I found out that I had GD at 29 weeks. I've been able to manage it with diet only and my numbers have been great. I had a growth scan last week at 36 + 2 and little one was estimated at 6lbs 6oz which is 51st percentile and average. Since things have been going well my doctor is letting me continue on. She doesn't like to induce until 39 weeks she said but if things weren't going well then she would take baby sooner. In my case if things continue to go well she'll let me go to 41 weeks but definitely not past it.

All depends on how you and baby are doing. :hugs:

Hi, I had GD with my first pregnancy. I had to have insulin injections from 36 weeks as my blood sugars weren't controlled with diet. I had growth scans every 2 weeks from 34 weeks and they induced me at 39+1 weeks. My DD's predicted weight was 9lbs from the scans but she weighed 7lbs 2oz and was perfectly healthy. Good luck.

hi I had GD with my first LO and was confirmed with it at 32 weeks. I managed it with diet alone as they told me as soon as I go over the nigh number i will have to go on injections. but luckly I did not need them.
I was induced at 38 weeks due to my scan at 37 weeks showed he was already 9lbs. if they would have left him he would have been nearer 11lbs by due date they told me.

good luck with the diet.

had GD with my first, controlled by diet only , baby was born 3.2 kilos, induced at 40 wks not cos he was measuring big but because where I live that is protocol for GD.
He did have low sugar in the hospital after birth and I had to give him formula, as soon as it went up I stopped ( so only two feeds) and all was good!

I was just diagnosed yesterday, and am so overwhelmed right now! I am seeing a specialist on tuesday, and am watching my diet. It is so much info!! I wish you the best, and we will get through this!:hugs:
