Hi Ladies! I am new to this site, sorry if i posted this is the wrong spot. I have just stopped my bc pills at the end of October. Just wondering how long it took some of you ladies, to get a regular cycle OR how long it took you get pregnant after the pill. I am trying not to stress, but its something we both want :)

I'm going on to cycle 5 and hoping my cycles are just now evening out. My O day and AF arrival varied by 1-3 days cycles 1-3. Cycle 4 was a bit of a return to normal. Hoping cycle 5 is either a bfp or at least another normal cycle.

I think I'm finally regulating after 6 months. Good luck

My cycles were normal straight away the first month and we were pregnant the 2nd month (this was in my 30s, after 12 years on the pill). Don't stress about it. If your cycles were normal and healthy anyway, coming off the pill won't change that and you should slip back into a normal cycle right away. (Now if you've always had irregular cycles or something else causing fertility issues, those will reappear after you stop the pill, which is why some people think the pill messes up their cycles). But if everything has always been fine, you'll likely pop right back into your usual cycles. Good luck!

I came off the pill in August after 14 years and have gone straight back to regular cycles. I was nervous it may take a while to get to regular cycles, I couldn't even remember if my cycles were regular at 16! We're in our 2nd month ttc. Good luck! x

Thanks ladies. I have been on the pill for 11 years i think (I can't remember that far back) and therefore cant remember what my periods were like before the pill. Fingers are crossed that it goes to somewhat regular, so it will be easy to track!
Ive heard many different things, that it can take months to conceive and Ive known people who it took less than 3 months. So I guess it really does depend on your own body!

I've had friends go off for a month and get pregnant. You just never know. Everyone's different. I was super regular before going on the pill, and mine has varied since coming off. One to three days isn't a huge deal, but when my O day also varies I can end up having some really short LPs. I didn't know my O days before so hard to say if that was an issue before. Regardless of what happens, best of luck! :)

We're starting cycle three. Started trying right after coming off BCPs (12 yrs). Similar story to Mrs. Unicorn though my O days seems consistent just my LP varies. I didn't have regular cycles before going on BCP (abnormal from 12 to 18).

I stopped pills in June and have only had 2 periods since and needed provera to induce both of them. Good Luck!!

I also came off the pill in October, got a positive OPK around Cycle Day 18 and my period day 28. My November cycle is shaping up to be exactly the same, I am expecting a positive OPK tomorrow morning and then hopefully either my BFP or my period on 5 December. It seems my cycle has regulated relatively quickly off the pill.

But I have heard of people taking a few cycles. My sister was pregnant 5ish months off the pill and is due in April.

I came off in September after 16 yrs.My first cycle seemed regular at 30 days. This one started out regular but I'm still waiting for AF which is putting this cycle at 32 days. I did get a positive OPK @ day 18. Still trying to figure it out.

@Star: Mine seemed regular my first cycle off too, but then it fluctuated on cycle 2 and 3. Cycle 4 was finally back to my norm, and cycle 5 is shaping up to be the same. Seems like I'm back on track now. Fingers crossed.

Hi ladies, I'm new to this forum! I just wanted to say that I also just came off of BCP at the end of October. I am currently on CD 29 and no AF. Before BCP I had completely normal, 28-29 day cycles. I temporarily went off the pill from October 2013 - March 2014 with no problems what-so-ever. My cycle came back regular. My husband and I just started TTC in November. I tested CD 27 with a $tree test and thought I saw a very faint + but I think it was an evap because I tested this morning with FMU and got a definite :bfn: I'm still waiting on AF though, so I guess I'm not completely out this cycle yet but I'm not feeling very hopeful.

@leson
Thanks for your insight!! Hopefully, I'll figure my cycle out soon enough!

Hope you're officially back on track!!!
