Just finished Provera, waiting for AF so I can start my first round of Clomid

Hi everyone!

I finished a 5 day course of Provera on Saturday. Now I am just waiting for AF so that I can start my first round of Clomid on day 5-9.

I've been feeling some cramps but nothing major, it may be all in my mind!

Is there anyone else out there starting this journey?

I am going to be 30 next month. TTC for #1. Hubby and I conceived in 2009 but MC. Took some time off while I got back on BC to regulate my hormones/cycle. I stopped BC in August, and AF came after 29 days. Then 34 days. Then 39 days. Then 45 days. Today is day 70.

Hoping to find some others going through the same thing

you are in good company here! I stopped BCP last May and the months went by and I had two light bleeds that I thought were periods but I had no ovulation. As it turns out I have PCOS. My doc put me on a pack of BCP because she wanted me to have the estrogen and then I will start my first round of clomid at the beginning of next month once I start the withdrawal bleed! I am excited yet nervous about this potentially not working.

Question-I have done provera withdrawal challenge twice and I did a 10 day course, I wonder why you got 5 days???? I am going through with the BCP for this cycle but next cycle I will do provera again if the clomid doesn't work. 5 days sounds a HELL of a lot better to me than 10 days!

That's a great question. One that I do not know the answer to. I didn't experience too many side effects with the Provera. Just very impatiently waiting for AF!

Hi Tc! I'm in the same boat -- finishing provera tomorrow, then using Clomid CD3-7. I'm going through the same thing for sure.

A good background on me is in my journal, but long story short I'm 25, DH is 26 and we've been NTNP for years, TTC for 9 months. I have PCOS and soe anovulatory cycles. Hoping Clomid will do the trick for me and I get my BFP first round. I got 50 mg.

Sweet! Let's all me Clomid buddies. I have two weeks left on my birth control pack...it feels like forever. If I have to do this again I am going to do the progesterone withdrawal because it is shorter. My protocol is days 5-9.

Wifeybby, did you do a 5 day provera? How many mg did you take?

I am kind of nervous the provera gave me so many different symptoms. I have super irregular cycles, I've only had 3 periods since May 2015 and one of those was brought on by provera to get hsg test. Hoping to get my cycles regulated and ovulation occurs with clomid

We are ttc #1 since October 2014, have had all tests everything came back fine. Obgyn believes it is just timing for us because of irregular cycles. Hoping for BFP this year

Are you only taking it for 3 days? I have not heard of this protocol before. How many MGs are you starting off at?

I am taking it for 5 days. First pill between day 3-5. Doc suggested day 4 for me. 50mgs

Hi guys! Love that I have some Clomid buddies here

I finished Provera Saturday (was supposed to be Friday but apparently I missed a dose somewhere :shrugh and started spotting this morning. Hoping today turns out to be full flow CD1 so I can start Clomid Weds.

2Ducks, I got the 10mg Provera x 10 days, then 50mg Clomid x 5 Days, starting CD3. Praying and hoping as hard as I can that I get my BFP first cycle. I know its a stretch, but it happens to some people, so why not me? Right? lol

I had more side effects on Provera this time than last time. Last time, it was just hot flashes at night and insomnia. This time, I was hot all day, all night, extremely moody/emotional, fought with my DH daily (unheard of for us, seriously) and I was a mess. Last time, it took me 4-5 days after the Provera to bleed; however I started spotting this morning so I'm hoping it'll turn into CD1 for me.

Did you get your AF yet, TC? I'm cheering for you!!

How are you, 2Ducks? It is a long wait, but will absolutely be worth it. I wonder why some girls get only 5 days of Provera. Maybe is weight based or something, or doctors preference?

Af is starting today! Just some spotting so far but hoping for cd1 this afternoon provera makes my cramps and back pain so intense! I have to agree my hot flashes were intense this time around on provera also. Going to be starting clomid in a few days. Excited and nervous

Had some light spotting this morning, hoping it will be full flow this afternoon so I can start clomid in a few days. Provera makes my cramps and bad aches so intense, anyone else? Also had bad hot flashes over the past week and acne is over the moon. Wondering what side effects clomid will bring. Excited and nervous hoping to get a positive ovulation test finally this month. Does any one use the clear blue ovulation tests? I've read that clomid can cause a false positive. Not sure when to start using the tests, maybe day after pills stop? Any thoughts. Hoping you get your Af today

AF is here today, it's clearly CD1 haha I'm so excited! Clomid, here I come Wednesday had a couple hours of spotting but AF is definitely here now. Can't wait to see a positive opk. Is your doctor monioring your O, Roosav? I'm doing follicle tracking, first timer here lol

You can ask for a day 21 u/s or progesterone draw to confirm O. Probably a good idea, OPKs can't confirm O. You also may want to temp to confirm O. I have 10 more days of my BCP pack and then FINALLY can start my cycle and clomid.

I Will ask for 21 day blood work! Had that done with my last cycle and it was negative. Starting clomid on Friday (which is day 4 of my cycle) so excited! My Doctor didn't recommend taking aspirin, glad I checked with him first.

Hi!

Roosav, I'm on CD5, started clomid Wed on CD3. So far no side effects, but it's still early on. So far so good though! and follicle tracking is when they do ultrasounds to see the size of the egg, they do one every day or every other day or so (I'll find that out soon) to watch it grow to the right size before giving you the trigger shot to release the egg. I feel great that I'm being so closely monitored, but the cost is the downfall. I hope we get our BFPs this cycle, so badly! I want nothing more than to bring home a LO for Christmas

Awesome I hope not to have many symptoms although I just struck the worst headache, most likely from my first pill. I am not having a trigger shot so maybe thats why I am not being monitored this cycle. I'm hoping to ovulate around March 29th! Fingers crossed for all you gals!

Sorry to hear of the headache! Can't stand those.

My re mentioned do the tracking before I knew about the trigger shot, so idk if he would've monitored without it or not. Since my shot is the 25th I'll O sometime that weekend so we'll be testing around the same time!!
