Hi!
I started weaning my son about a month ago just before he turned 6 months. I just have no confidence with the whole weaning process. I'm not sure why, I weaned my daughter fine and she took to it so well, eating everything we did by 7 months and hardly any gagging etc. even now she is still a great eater and will eat most things that are put in front of her.
My son on the other hand, I started giving him purée' and all he seems to do is gag all the time. I also do give him finger food which he enjoys mushing up and he does put them to his mouth but only a couple of times and soon gets bored. I understand that it's early days and he isn't going to want much. I just seem to have lost confidence, I hate the gagging it really scares me. I don't remember feeling like this with my first. Although I do give him finger foods I do get really panicky and only do it when my other half is at home. He is a real milk monster and is a big boy at nearly 21lbs at 6 months.
I just want more confidence and some words of support! Thanks for reading!
