Hello.

Well after being undesided on how to feed since i got pregnant we said we would see how i felt after i had given birth... and my first word were im formula feeding... might have been to out of it but i just felt more comfy with that! So hello :hi:

My question is... He seems to be taking 60-70mls most feeds... and some times he brings some back up but not always. The midwife told me that he would take 40-50ml? am i over feeding him? lol i was told you cant over feed a baby but i feel stupid lol :shrug:x

The baby will tell you when he/she has had enough, usually by turning their head and pulling away from the teat, same as they would do from the nipple!

Hi hun,

My LO took 60ml on his first feed :haha: greedy boy.

He soon went up to 90ml once we brought him home. If you read on tins of milk / what midwives go by its only estimates. Every baby differs, don't worry like you said you can't overfeed them :)

x

My LO was the same, on leaving hospital I was told he needed 30 or 40 ml (1-1.5ozs)depending on if he was going 3 or 4 hours. He actually was taking 3oz bottles pretty much as soon as he came home. I asked the MW and she said it's not possible to overfeed, if they take too much they'll sick it back up xx

well he did 90mls earlier... and didnt bring much up!! greedy boy lol!

See i didnt get much help from the midwives at the hospital because alot of them were really anti bottle feeding and would turn their noses up at me to go to the ladies that were breast feeding.

Luckly enough the lady that delivered Oliver was pro bottle so she gave us a bit of help when we did the first feed.
