hi everyone, im new to this board and i have been reading a few threads and decided to register as everyone seems to be very friendly and helpful :)

i had an ectopic pregnancy 7 days ago.....i found out last friday, 15th May via a scan and a lot of test then the doctor in the hospital organised a surgery straight away on the same day....they were worried that my tube might ruptured as i was bleeding at the time.

i lost my right tube and was devastated as we were really excited when we found out about the pregnancy....

i just got my sutures removed today....and the doctor told me to come back in 5 weeks to check my HCG level.

we want to start TTC again but im terrified at the same time coz i dont want to go thru this again....

im wondering if my chances of conceiving is much less this time because i only have one tube....should we use birth control from now on until 2 normal period like the doctor suggested? or should we not worry about it considering my fertility has decreased with only one tube and chances are its gonna take us longer to conceive?

im just pretty confused right now and not sure what to think or do....

we dont really want to wait too long for another baby as we want to have a baby by next year if this is at all possible.

is there someone here who has gone thru a similar situation?
i would love to hear your opinion and suggestions or even share your stories to give me hope :)

Hi honey, I have not been through an ectopic myself, but I couldnt read and run, and wanted to send you some :hug:, we have all lost angels on here one way or another, and I have found it a great help talking to other mums.

Sorry you have had to go through this.

Thank you Laura, i'm glad to have found this place....i think it would be good to be able to talk to others who have gone thru similar experience and exchange thoughts and advice :)

Lou, wow you gave me hope and your story is very encouraging....thank you so much for sharing with me :)

can i ask if you had AF at all after your surgery or before your get your BFP?

did you experience some bleeding after the surgery? and how long was your bleeding last?

i had some bleeding after my surgery which stopped on sunday 17th May but i started bleeding again a couple of days afterwards (still bleeding right now) not sure if this is a continual bleeding because of the operation or is it AF that just comes back.....this is all confusing and im not sure of anything right now....

Oh Mrs, so sorry to hear this.

xxxx

Hi there, I am in the same boat. I had my right tube removed in March. I was told to wait for one normal AF and then try again. We are just about to try in cycle 2 since the op.

I really feel ok and optimistic about things. I think its best to focus on the positive 1) you can get pregnant! 2) You will be monitored carefully in next preg.

Incidentally I dont think your fertility drops too dramatically, depending on the state of teh other tube. It would seem the egg can travel from the bad side to the other.

Check out www.ectopic.org.uk

I know its easy to say but there really is no point getting dragged down by this. Focus on the positive! Big hugs to you..

Thanks Mazza, i have joined the Ectopic Trust board too and im feeling a lot more optimistic now after i have been reading a lot of success story in there :)

Are you starting TTC now? i wishing you all the best and right now im feeling quite impatient waiting for July to come around so we can start TTC again....i just hope it will happen quickly for both of us *fingers crossed*

Yes I am now on cycle 2 post op. I fell pg straight away last time and i stupidly expected to this time! LOL. Every twinge I think its happening again but I gues sthats to be expected.

Honestly though, it does get better and I am trying to remain postive for the future.

Good luck and let me know how things go? XXXXXXXXXX

awww i know how that feels Mazza...and i think when we get pregnant again we will still analyze every single twinge we get....specially after EP that is bound to happen :)

oh and im wondering if you are charting your temp? i've been told that it works very well so i just started charting for the last few days....im hoping this will make me more in tune with my body and get to know my cycle better after the surgery coz obviously my cycle is now all over the place....hopefully when it comes to TTC in July we will be more aware on ovulation dates and so on :p

oh and im also taking notes on the stuff to help TTC so we can get pregnant again straight away....stuff like Evening Primrose Oil and Robitussin and Royal Jelly etc etc....well anything to shorten TTC time and help conception coz we want to get pregnant again as soon as possible ;)

my friend had a miscarriage and had to have a tube removed she has since had a beautiful little girl :)

I just started temping this month, but am finding it a struggle. I use preseed, EPO and I tried agnus castus this cycle.
I am not sure about any of it but it makes me feel like I am being pro active! Haha I am such a control freak!
