Seena couple of threads about dropping feeds and didnt want ot hijack. So my question is when do u start doing this? Is it a case of when u introduce solids it replaces some of the milk? Kx

I have no idea; I have always fed Elyse on demand..
They don't really have guidelines here about how many bottles per day at various ages really that I'm aware of..

Violet has dropped 2 bottles now but they were both her doing - she just stopped waking up for them and if we woke her up for the bottle, she'd hardly take any.

I still feed her on demand though, but luckily she has a pretty predictable feeding habit/pattern.

I'm not sure if you should "force" them to drop bottles though.

Thanks girls, just wasnt sure if they should begin to take less milk or wot coz in general Jessica is a guzzler lol and i dont c her ever giving up a feed! Will just c wot she does for herself in time then. Kx

luisa just stopped waking for her 2am bottle then two weeks later stopped waking for her 6am bottle

she takes more at each feed now though so has the same amount just i get more sleep

she was taking 6x 4-5oz bottles now takes 4x7-8oz bottles

C Jessica has slept from she was about 3wks old and now sleeps from about 7pm-6am and so takes lots normally during the day so it may be that she wont drop any bottle then. Im the same, i dont mind how much she needs during the day as long as she sleeps at night! Kx

I think they just drop bottles by themselves? liam dropped his night bottles at 6 weeks and his lunch ones when he started solids just wasted them x

Violet is down to 4 in a day and I cant see her dropping anymore until she's weaned.

Only thing that might happen is her feeding times change because at the moment her last bottle is 5/6pm and then she doesnt want anymore until 6am. So she might push it back a few hrs but doubt she'll drop another bottle.

At the moment she is taking 5-6 6oz bottles and shows no sign of dropping any, minus this hot spell she was draining all bottles and is now going b ack to that. Her last bottle is about 7pm and thats her until 6am. Kx

jacob is on 5x 7oz a day and as yet he isnt showing any signs of dropping a feed. he goes to bed at 8.30pm and wakes up about 7.30am and has his 1st feed at 8am. he is spot on with his weight so not too worried.
