Oh my neighbour just told me off cos I told her I was wanting a chicken kebab on saturday when we go to glasgow.

Since I been pregnant I've had one doner kebab, I just really fancied it.

Now in glasgow near where I used to work there is a takeaway place that does chicken doner kebabs. I used to go there once a week after work.

Never ever found anywhere since that does them the same. We are taking my son up to his grannys on sat and I decided I needed one.

Please tell me it's ok to eat the odd kebab??!

Why on earth wouldn't it be?

(not being sarcastic, genuinely not understanding your neighbour's concern!)

She told me I'm not supposed to have takeaways.
But sure they cook them til theyr real hot on the grill thingy dont they?
I was confused to why I shouldnt lol

Never heard that before. Sure you wouldn't want to have a dodgy kebab, but the chances of that are not high! Meat that has been cooked properly on a grill will be just fine, whether in a fast food joint or not!

Well I have had Pizza and fish and chips (good fish I can eat while pregnant).

I don't know one pregnant women that hasn't had takeaway, as long as it is cook and eaten straight away it fine honey.

with my 3rd child all i craved was chicken kebabs best thing ever mmm
and with this one i cant stand them lol
but yes of course you can eat them xxx

It is fine hun, as are most things in moderation. If you were telling me you were going to eat them exclusively for the next month I'd probably disagree but you aren't!!!

I never eat the things and yet at about 10pm one night 2 weeks ago, it was all that I wanted so Boyo ordered me one and just told the fella I was pregnant and he grilled the meat after cutting it and made sure my salad was fresh and as much as I only ate about 6 mouthfuls, it was great!!

If you google it, as we did afterwards to see how "bad" it was, you will see all sorts of things about how you shouldn't eat them as the salad has sat there but the same people will say you can eat a Subway which also has the salad sat there all day.....go figure :dohh:

Anyway, what I am trying to say is if you want one, have one and enjoy it and don't listen to those on the net who try and put the fear of god into us about absolutely everything during pregnancy :hugs:

Of course its okay :) as long as you arent eating them every 5 minutes because they arent packed with nutrition lol, but if you want have one :D x

Oh thank god :D
I have been looking forward to my chicken kebab for months!
Only other time I've been in glasgow since, it was in the day so it was shut :( Lol

Aww, eat your chicken kebab! i was craving dominos pizza last week, not healthy in the slightest but i thought what the heck, if i put a pound or two on in the process il gain pizza or no pizza! As long as its not morning evening and night then its fine x

Didn't anyone ever tell her that you aren't supposed to tell pregnant women what they can and can't eat? I'd have told her off. Don't we have enough to worry about without all this unsolicited advice?!

Yeah! I wish people would stop telling me what to eat! people who see me for like 2 hours a day :D

OOhhhh gosh, all i have fancied is a kebab and that was before i was pregnant LOL .... since i have moved to canada thats all i have wanted lol. Now im preg im hoping that i dont start craving it cus it will drive me mad ! The canadian version of the Kebab is nothing like the English one. Think of me whilst your eating it lol

OMG!!! We are not supposed to eat take-away? Sod that!! Seeing as I am vomming 2 or 3 times a day and feel sick 24-7 I will eat what I fancy!! I am big-style into chinese at the mo and really cheesey pizzas with sweetcorn and BBQ sauce, but next week I will prob want something else! And I still cant stop myself loosing weight!!
One thing I did hear was not supposed to eat microwavable ready meals, but my MW said they were fine. I am loving mac cheese!!
I suppose the biggest thing I am gutted about is not being able to eat Macdonalds mcflurrys or pizza hut ice cream factory! But a small price to pay for a beautiful baby!!
Happy eating everybody!!!

We've had takeaways, I made the husband go and buy me a chicken shish the other day, I love them. I just had it with no green salad and put that bit in myself, and checked each lump of chicken before I ate it. Yummy!

Well, a kebab doesn't sound like a very healthy thing for the baby, but so long as they're not your main diet, I'm sure it's fine. In general I'm eating really healthily, lots of fruit and veg etc, but we all have weaknesses and mine is fizzy cola/strawberry laces(!)

Why aren't we allowed to eat McFlurrys etc? Tell me tell me!!

My 'friend' thought she would give me abit of her so called advice! I told her im eating little snacks all day, like yoghurts, jelly, etc, and she said, 'fat people gain weight quicker when theyre eating all day, you need to eat meals rather than snacking'.
Im thinking excuse me, have you ever been preg, do you know how sick it makes you feel that you eat anything to keep it down, and as for the 'fat' insult, i weigh just under 9 stone at 5 foot 6, which in no way makes me fat!
God i wish people would just worry about theirselves!

MMMM mcflurry! haha could do with one now! :P

Mcflurrys are bad because they freeze the ice cream defrost it and then refreeze it everyday in those little machines! Can hold listeria so my MW says!!!
