Hi girls

My pregnancy has been classed as high risk from the start due to only having one kidney which doesn't work particularly well, me being on blood thinning injections daily (fragmin) and having a heart shaped uterus.

I'm due to get either a section due to the baby being breech or induced if by some miracle he turns at 38wks.

I found out last week i now have hydronephrosis of my kidney on top of the existing problems. I'm in complete agony with this and am barely managing to cope with work etc. The only treatment they have advised for this is strong prescription painkillers but i'm posed with the problem that if i take the painkillers it would mask any sign of infection in my kidney. I do get frequent kidney infections which obviously carry much higher risks now that i only have one kidney and am pregnant.

My consultant has mentioned that the baby might need to come earlier than 38wks now due to these problems and i wondered if anyone had been in the same situation with kidney issues and how early did your baby come, how did she/he cope etc?

Thanks :flower:

I'm sorry you are going through this. I dont have any knowledge of it but I hope the best. :)

Thanks mamabearjen :hugs: I'm back at the consultant obstetrician today so hopefully I'll find out a little more about what the plan is for the rest of my pregnancy.
