when i was preg i thought about this sooo much, i am still with leyla's dad but we argue a lot and i wanted to make sure that if we ever broke up (before we were married) that i wouldnt have to go through this, i told him first of all that i was giving her his surname but changed my mind later in pregnancy and while he wasnt happy about it he respected my decision, i just said to him how come she'll have ur name and not mine (were not married), i said she'll have my surname till we get married then she'll get yours, and he said ok

My 7yr old had his dads name on his bc, we spilt up when he was 14mths..as he now shows no interest in my DS i changed his name everywhere to my last name, nobody questioned me or asked for documents etc..the only one i have been told it has to be in his bc name is a bank account..school/dr/dentist/hospital etc use my last name with him.
Also in a sense im luck as my ex doesn't have parental responsibility for DS thus when me and my DP get married i will be able to change DS's name by deed poll to match all our names without the exs permission, im also giving parental responsibilty to my DP when our baby is born as he will then be responsible for both boys should something happpen and again i dont need the ex to ok this.
Serves the fuck3& right for ignoring his son for 6yrs and not giving me a penny in that time!
