KIT Days Question

I have been on mat leave for the last 7 months and work have asked me to do a training course which lasts for 5 days in March. I go back to work about 2 weeks later.

Just wondering if the pay you receive for KIT days is at the normal rate of pay if i were still on normal working hours or if it will just be at my SMP rate.

Hi, KIT days are paid at your full rate of pay so are worth doing in my opinion! Obviously you dont get SMP for that day too though so as long as you are earning more than SMP pays you will be better off

yeah i earn over double a wk than what i wat earn from SMP! so if thats def the case then i will work the 5 days. will ring my HR department tomorrow to doubly check as all the internet pages are saying that the employer only has to pay u SMP or can pay more if they chose to !!! confusing hey lol

i work for the local couny council.
