Hi ladies,I'm expressing as I can't bf due to baby not been able to latch,anyway just wondering if sometimes he doesn't finish a bottle is it ok to save the milk left and give it a bit later or add to next bottle?

Yes it's fine, just give it a sniff and if it smells off chuck it out, if not its fine for baby

They say not to on some websites but I have since they were born and haven't had any problems.

I do it all the time. My rule of thumb is just not to add it to anouther batch or bottle, but to let him finish off the unfinished one, THEN give him the new bottle.

Have you tried nipple shields? They work wonders for me and my daughter! She wouldn't latch at first either but she is doing well with the shield!

i went to lactation consultant and she got him to latch on again with nipple shields and by having a small syringe of milk which someone else needs to put in his mouth while he is on ur boob (u dont have enough hands to do it urself ) , this makes them see that they get milk if they suck
it worked but then 2 days later he was still cryin and hungry so i went back to expressing

4 hours is the limit. I wouldn't add to fresh milk. Finish old milk first, then new!

firstly dont give up! For 6 weeks my LO would not latch between flat nipples and her not opening her mouth enough ( she tried suck like you would suck on a straw very painful) things were awful but I pumped and fed her ... at about 7 weeks suddenly I was able to get her to latch and now at 13 weeks we are doing great!! So keep trying to put baby to breast.. I always tried before almost every bottle. Anyways to answer your question only keep the milk at room temp for 4 hours. You can ofcourse put it in the fridge if you need/want to. I would finish one completely before giving another.
