hiya all
just to let you knw i have my 1st af since the lap. its come 6 days early but dont know if thats coz i have also started taking pregancare
im not using tampons this cycle as they said it could cause an infection but so far have not noticed any difference in the blood etc (TMI) but its stil the 1st day
i dont mind as it means ov will come earlier than expected

Hiya AF is due for me Wed/Thur and apart from a little bit of spotting when I wiped for a few days after the lap I've no sign of AF coming early!

DH and I BDed last night for the 1st time since the lap - was a little uncomfortable and I had stomach cramps for about 20 mins after so am thinking it may have been a little early!!! But anyway even after that there is no sign of AF!

Hi girls! Hope you don’t me joining you! There’s been a lot of interesting info on here, and I’m looking for a bit more! A bit about me, my Dr referred us to the FS Clinic, and we’ve been having various tests. Both my ultrasound and a follow up blood test shows that I have an hemorrhagic cyst on one of my ovaries. I believe this is also known as endo. Luckily I’m not in any pain, but I’m booked in for a Lap on Monday to check it out, and if necessary, remove it. Whilst I’m there they are also doing the “Dye” part too as makes sense. So I’m just wondering when I will find out the results? I have read various different stories of people being told straight away afterwards by their consultant, and some people having to wait for a further appointment weeks later with their consultant to find out the results. Also, does anyone know what happens next in terms of being accepted for IVF? Eg presumably if everything is OK then obviously no acceptance, but if not OK, do they then accept you straight away? Or do they send you away and say give it x months for example before coming back? My concern is I turn 40 in Feb and am worried there won’t be enough time in between the Lap & Dye and me turning 40 for any further checks ups/appointment/etc to potentially get an acceptance. I think my AF should be due a few days after my L&D, and I should be due to O approx 2.5 weeks after the L&D, do you think I will be OK by then to be trying? Really don’t want to miss another cycle (had to miss this cycle as couldn’t be PG before the procedure). I have been advised to take a week off work, which I have done (ie Monday-Friday), will this be long enough to recover? Sorry for the millions of questions, but like to be prepared! Lady K you shuld get your results straight away..i did

Piggingteacher, my af arrived early ( about 5 days) im normally a regular 28 days . normally its 2 days this time it was 3 days but i have made a few changes so it could be anything...
started acupuncture and reflox, the lap, vit tablets and a healthy diet. Who knows..

My AF is due today/tomorrow but as yet absolutely no sign!!! And I'm the same as you eager to start trying again after a cycle off cause of the lap & dye!!

We've BDed once since I had the lap and that was sunday (I had the lap tuesday before) so only 5 days after! Think it may have been a little early sorry if tmi but everything was fine with Dh inside me and everything else etc etc but when I orgasmed that was really uncomfortable around my stomach muscles, (they're still sore on the left when I sneeze as well!) and then I had a little uncomfortable crapping for about 20 mins after! I'm really warey about trying again now and think DH is too - I didn't want him to feel bad so tried really hard not to show how uncomfortable I was after but he knows me so well he culd tell!!!

Hi LadyK of course we don't mind u joining us!
I also go my results for the lap & dye straight after, my fs did the rounds to talk to us after she'd finished her morning list and as I was 1st in I'd been round from the GA for a good coupe of hours by the time she arrived!
When she provisionally booked me in for the lap she also told me to make another appointment to see her about a week after the lap which I did so I saw her again yesterday (a week after) and went through the results more fully then and got to see pictures of my insides too!!!

Re the IVF I'm afraid I don't know a lot about that - as DH and I both have children from previous relationships we won't get IVF on the NHS so we haven't really gone into any details about that with our FS!

I would think you'll be fine to start trying again 2 weeks after yr lap - DH and I BDed 5 days after I had mine! And I know what you mean about not wanting to miss another cycle - its the same for me - I'm currently awaiting the arrival of 1st AF since lap last Tues (due today/tomorrow) but currently no sign which is a little frustraing as I'm eager to start trying again! I've heard from a few people on here that yr just of conceiving are increased in the 6 months after a lap & dye!

And I'm sure u'll be fine to go back to work after a week off - I had my lap a week ago yesterday and I'm pretty much back to normal now, still feel a little bruised and its still a little sore when I sneeze but i'm able to do everything I was doing before! I managed to walk the 10 mins up to the school the day after to pick my 4 year old up!

I didnt realise there was a group here but for sure u can join. I am seriously considering having an endo group on here. Seems like there is a few of us that suffer from it. I did have my lap last week, its my second one. And if your lap is kinda simple I took a week off work. I problably would of been able to go back after 3 days. This time however Ive had major work and I need about a week and half. Im not on pain killers anymore but im really tired.

I also had the dye done this time and my con told me straight away. They always come around and talk to you. And its ur chance to ask them your questions. You might be still a bit groggy though. Last time i wasnt able to speak to my con on the day and I called her department the next day and got an appointment straight away.

It depends on the clinic your referred to about IVF. But you have endo and id say cause of your age you will be fast tracked. I was, due to my endo being really bad. Im 28.

With BD around your ovulation, im still a bit sore its been 10 days but im sure if it was really gentle i could manage. Im sure you will be fine not to miss your next chance.

Hold on hun, I think mine is something like that. Im getting confised know, I have it written somewhere. From memory my con said between 4 to 7 was fine and he was please mine was like 4.8 or something. Especially since ive had major surgery on ovaries.

And if it is hun, its not a low chance of being pregnant maybe just a poor responder and you will need to be on max drugs via IVF. But it only takes 1 egg thats it.

Sorry i just checked and it was for FSH testing and not AMH. Its all so confusing at times.

It may be that u weren't round the the ga when the dr who did yr ops came round - I know out of the 4 girls my fs operated on that morning 2 were still out of it so she didn't speak to them directly after - have you tried phoning and asking what they found? You shouldn't have to wait that long. I thought the Welsh NHS was meant to be a hell of a lot better than the English with shorter waiting lists etc!

I'm on day 31 now - my last 5 cycles have been 30 days! I had a mc at 5 weeks in March and my 1st 4 cycles after that went 28, 26, 28, 26 and then they went to 30 days and thats where I've been until now!! Before the mc my cycles were 27-29 days so I am getting a bit concerned that there is no sign of AF.

I've had to take painkillers again today cause my incisions have got painful again - they look fine though, I guess I'll c how they are tomorrow and if not any better I'll go c a Dr!

I also have a proper follow up appointment in Jan. My surgeon just came over real quick like for 2 min while i was waking up and told me breifly what happened. And i asked a few questions. Didnt any one come around and talk to you briefly? Thats bull if thats the case. But when I did have d&c (remove the sac when i had a miscarriage) no one came around either. Maybe they dont when its a minor op. Sorry to put it that way. The d&c took 10 min while my recent op took 1 hour and half.

Maybe give them a buzz, if you can get an earlier appointment or get them to send to the results to your GP and see your GP.

My doctor came around briefly after my lap but she'd told me before the surgery that she would talk to me briefly because the anesthesia makes people fuzzy and it is difficult to understand/remember what is said directly after surgery.
She did call the following day to give me an initial report, but we won't get a full report until the bits excised are analyzed by the lab.
I'd just follow up with your doctor asking for over the phone results before the holidays.

Thanks all, i spoke to my doctor a week ago about my results but he said they dont get them, i juys have to wait to see consultant. I should be used to waiting really, its the story of my life!! Im trying to think positively, maybe its good that they are not rushing to see me

Still havent had AF, my cycle is usually 28/29 days, but can be tempremental!! I spoke to a friend who had a lap and dye and she didn't have a period for 5 weeks after it!!

Oh blimey! I've had a bit of spotting today so am hoping AF is on the way then I'm on for ovulation the week before xmas!
Don't think I could cope having to wait 5 weeks for her to show her ugly mug!
I feel all re energised and ready to hit it head on now I know there is a way through all be it a little wiggly!!!!
