Hello!

I had my scan at 12 weeks 5 days and all is fine .

The bpd of baby is right at top of chart though .

She measured it once and her colleague told her its at top of chart- then she said ok I'll measure again- gave her new figure and said 'is that just as bad ?'

I think she said those words without a thought and didn't mean to worry me - but I am a bit concerned !

I asked her is the head is big and she just answered that most babies are all same at this stage and it will be the 20 week scan when I will see if baby is big- and if I eat a high sugar diet it will start to affect then.

My concern is whether this large measurement might suggest an anatomical or other problem with my baby.

Just wondered if anyone here had any experience or knows any more than I do?

Thank you xxx

Your baby might just have a big head.... my cousin's baby's head was larger than normal at her 12 week scan and the doctor warned her that it could be a bad sign, then at the 20 week scan they were all "oh no, that may not be good" and then her DD was born perfectly perfect other than her big head.

Hi thanks for replying. Do you know what they were suggesting the bad sign might be suggesting at all? X

It's biparieral diameter . It's the measure my from one side of skull to the other x
