Hi Ladies,

I went to Germany recently and a friend had a lovely large wicker moses basket / crib; like the Leipold ones. Baby looked v comfy and I liked the fact that it could stay in there up to 6/9 months.
So I did a bit of research in the UK and found this crib - what do you guys think? a worthwhile investment? It arrived today and is beautiful. It's probably 2-3 times the size of a moses and rocks easily with the wheels. It's handmade in Scotland. :) x

I like it. It looks lovely. The only thing is I'm not convinced by the claims that it can be used until 9 months. Lots of babies by that time are starting to pull themselves up and it just wouldn't be safe. Six months seems more realistic and it is really lovely looking.

Yes I thought the same - 6 months is about right :) it's very sturdy and even if it's ok up to 4/5 months I'm guessing I'll get more use out of it... x

I love this have already seen them will be my next purchase after the buggy is done

I think it is lovely but I don't think I'd been inclined to want to use something like that after they are more mobile (5 or 6 months).

Wow, it's beautiful! I'm not sure about 9 months but every baby's different after all. We nearly squeezed out 6 months of use with my daughter's cosleeper (43 x 80 cm) then we had to get her a standard size crib. Loved that little cosleeper though. They grow way too quickly.

i would be surprised if baby didnt crawl right out at like 4 months. at that point many of my friends babies were very very mobile.. they wouldnt even need to be pulling themselves up to get out of that.. it's quite shallow for infant bedding.

however i have to say it's really pretty haha.

It's gorgeous but I wouldn't use anything like that beyond about 4 months for fear of baby falling out. My son could sit unaided at 21 weeks xx

its beautiful but i also wouldnt use it once baby could sit up depending on the baby between 4-6 months however id still want to use it after that its so lovely maybe as a changing station in the nursery once baby is too big to sleep in it if you just take the bedding out and put a waterproof mattress in x

I would say the max age is 3/4 months,

It's not about the size of the crib but the development of the baby
