scares me to death
WE have the tile floor here and I'm scared to let LO crawling on the floor
MIL keeps blaming me for not letting him crawl. She said he should be all over the house already :hissy:
She doesn;t realize that she always upsets me and complaint about everything I do
I do let him crawl on the bed and with the rug or mattress on the floor:blush:
and of course she said i should just let him learn on the floor
I don't think he's a slow baby anyway

He should be crawling around the house?? :saywhat: Actually Hannah just now started moving forwards and she certainly hasn't moved out of the living room, yet thank goodness. I don't think he's slow at all and it's silly to say he should be crawling around the house by now.

Every baby is different and they all do things at different ages so i wouldnt worry.
I would have thought he would be fine getting used to crawling on the tile floor as that will be all he is used to iykwim x

We let our son crawl on the tile floor, but only because we don't have any carpeting in my house at all. We were really really hesitant to let him walk on it though. We didn't let him until he started getting really good at walking, and even so, we have to watch him so closely.

I don't think that not letting him crawl on the tile floor would slow down his skill building at all. Once he gets really good at crawling I'd let him though, but not when he's just starting and getting used to it.

We have all hardwood floors, nice and slippery too. Had to go and buy an area rug for the living room cause she couldn't figure out HOW to crawl on the wood, lol. Now she zooms over the hardwood, linoleum, everything. Walking though...yikes..when she bangs that little head on the wood my heart stops. Time for some shoes me thinks!

Oh goodness, all over the house? Every baby is different some crawl very early, some never crawl at all. I completely understand your worries though, we have wood flooring, so I was very worried about Kaysie Blossom, so went out and brought a huge fleece blanket/bed throw that covers most of our floor, she loves the soft feeling and I am happier

my son doesnt crawl yet, he slides backwards on the tile floor but doesnt crawl. I have tile all over the house and only carpet in the living room so i do let him on the floor but i constantly watch him as he has a tendency to get stuck on his belly and then start head banging!

I dont think at his age he should be "all over the house" the average crawling age is 7-9 months.
However, saying that Colton didn't crawl until about 9.5 months, and like you we had tile, which terrified me so I didn't set him in the floor until we had carpet put in  I DID try, twice, to set him in the floor once he hit his face and busted his lip open, the second time he hit the back of his head and started screaming bloody murder :( After that I waited until we got carpet (like two weeks later).. So, I can say I know how you feel.. been in that situation, so :hugs: I think whether or not you set him in the floor he will learn eventually, just because he will want to be mobile!! ;)

Every baby is diff my son only started to crawl around for real when he was 8 1/2 months and on carpet only or wood floors ..yesterday was the first time he crawled on tile flooring at my SIL and I watched him like a hawk ..I dont mind if he bumps his head on carpet but not on tile ..

There's hardwood though out the whole house here, so Kathryn is just going to have to learn on the hard wood, though we may get an area rug or something. But every baby is different, don't worry about it!
