I'm a leftie, OH is a Rightie! I hope Tom will be leftie like me!! ) He's definately showing signs, he does most things with his left hand but he kicks with his right foot. It is possile to be one of the other so we'll see!

I'm a rightie, OH is a leftie. Andrew is showing most definite signs of being a leftie like his Daddy. Either way, he's got somebody that can help him learn how to write!

Megan uses her left for everything. Even at a very young age. When picking up food at 6 mo it was only with her left hand or she would pick it up with her right and then transfer it to her left to put it in her mouth.

She colors only with left hand and picks up toys with her left. forks and spoon are left handed as well.

I had read that this was too early to tell.... But I can't really see her all of a sudden switching everything to right handed? We'll see!

I am a lefty (for writing, I use my right for most other things though) and DH is a righty. For ages Amy would use both hands but since she was about 2.5 she has always favoured her right.

They say they 'decide' between 2 and 3 BUT according to my mum and my MIL (both hubby and I are LH), it was clear around 1. Same with Molly, she leads with her left foot too so we think she may be following in our footsteps.

However, my friend's son who is nearly 4, still can't decide and uses both, hehe.

I always forget and set the dinner table wrong, my mil tells me of haha

Carter has always preferred his left hand, guess we will have to wait and see though.

Im pretty certain Travis is right handed (Im a lefty, so was hoping he would b too!) ever since he started doing things with his hands, the right was always first: when he was tiny, it was the first hand he unclenched, first hand he batted at toys with, reached for toys with, put in his mouth, now its the hand he holds crayons and spoons in and picks things up with. He can do this with his left hand if needed (ie if he already has something in the right) but he always goes for the right first.

Havent read all the replies so im not sure if its been said yet, but i read somewhere that all lefties should have been twins, n thats how u get lefties: the embryo splits in early pregnancy just like "normal" (!) twins, but it splits as a mirror image. Yet with single born lefties, one embryo would have been reabsorbed by the uterus before it was detected by mother/scan! When i worked as a teacher, i was always looking at the identical twins to see if this held true, and more often than not the twins would b one of each! Freaky huh?!
