hi ladies (and men as im surprised iv seen a few lol)

i dont know if iv posted in the right thread but iv been having a few worries over the past month of my pregnancy, this is my 3rd pregnancy, 1st boy and i havent had this problem before so im hoping i can get a bit of help??

about 6-8 times in the last month when i have been lying in bed (asleep most of the time) my left arm has gone numb followed by my left leg, i have to lift them up with my right arm to be able to move, im literally paralyzed for about 5 minutes. everytime iv been asleep iv somehow woken up to it and im a little bit worried as they go shaky while i cant feel them.

it happened last night as well but thats the first time my leg hasnt gone as well, just hoping for a bit of advice if anyones been through it??

thanks in advance, rach xx

I'm not saying it'll be the same as me. But I started having seizures while I was pregnant with my first mainly in my sleep and I was left with numbness down my right side. Not all of the seizures were with convulsions so it wasn't always really noticable to anyone what was happening as when they happened when i was awake i would just zone out. Following seeing my doctor and a neurologist I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and Todds Palsy (One sided numbness post-seizure).

I never had epilepsy prior to my pregnancy but It has never went away and I am now on medication to control it.

It might be something as simple as a trapped nerve but i would at least get it checked out to set your mind at ease. I found it alot easier to deal with once i knoew what was happening. It's bloomin scary when you wake up and can't fell half your body.

For your own sanity's sake i'd go see your doc.

Keep me posted and I hope you get it sorted and feel better soon.
