Jessica is almost 8 months old and has taken to her solids really well, since we started weaning she has gone from going just 2, sometimes 3 hours between feeds to going more like 3/4 hours. She has 3 meals a day. She would probably go longer than 4 hours if I let her but I still feel milk is important so I don't really like her to go longer than 4 hours during the day.

Just curious as to how much your 8 month olds were bfing at that age? I'm not really sure how long she 'should' be going between feeds.

My LO eats/nurses every two hours during the day. She'll go longer if we are out or she takes a nap.

Im wondering the same thing as my LO is just 8 months old and feeds in the morning, around lunchtime, then sometimes in the mid afternoon and bedtime. Then he has a late 11pm feed and a feed anywhere between 3am and 6am. I'm not sure but I think he should be cutting out some feeds by now as he seems to only go 4hrs between milk feeds. He has 2-3 meals a day too.

my lo still feeds every 2 hours if he can! 7.5weeks til i go back to work so i hope feeds start spacing soon.

My lo isn't 8 months yet but he feeds every 4 hours or so, I try to feed him in between but he won't take it! He also isn't having many solids

My lo will eat every hour if I let him, lol! He usually goes every 2-3 sometimes even 4 but VERY rarely. He is a complete booby monster, always has been though. He is on 3 solid meals a day and sometimes some little puffs for snacks to, but I don't think that really counts :) Sounds like Jessica is doing great!

My son was eating every 2-3 hours during the day until I had to stop breastfeeding at 11 months , at night he would only go 4 hours between feeds

I don't really keep track with Violet, but my work schedule really affects her. She takes about 4 to 6 ounces while I'm at work, cluster feeds in the evening, and eats throughout the night. On weekends, she eats more during the day and less at night. She doesn't do lots of solids, mostly because my husband doesn't do much with the solids during the day. I'm starting to get him to offer her solids at least once while I'm at work. On weekends I offer several times a day.

Every 1.5-2 hours. Taking a little bit of solids a few times a day.

Sophia sounds very similar to your LO. She is a month younger, has also taken really well to solids, more than I thought she would.

Now her routine is
7-7.30 wake up and breast feed
8-8.30 breakfast
11.30-12 breast feed
1-1.30 lunch
3-4 breast feed

After 4 she sometimes manages to get in 2 more breast feeds before bed at 6.30-7.

So mostly 4 hourly and she STTN so no feeds then either, I hope she's getting enough! But I have decided not to introduce a 3rd meal until closer to a year as I don't want her reduce her feeds anymore.
