LH surge and ovulation

So last month was my first time temping or using OPKs, and I'm trying to make some comparisons to this month. I had two really bad nights of right as I got my positive OPK, so I'm not sure if I trust where FF will put the CHs just going by temps.

Does anyone know if the timing between the LH spike and ovulation is consistent from month to month? I know in general O can happen up to three days after the surge... But if I O'ed the same day as the surge last month, Should that be the case again this month? Or does it vary?

I've only used OPKs since December and apart from one cycle (the one I got pregnant on) I have O'd consistently 2 days after my positive OPK. I only temped for one cycle but I know I have spotting on 1dpo so can be pretty sure.

Without temping, how are you sure when you O'ed (or when you're 1dpo)?

Because I have a cervical abrasion that is sensitive to the rise in progesterone and I spot for two weeks straight after O until AF. I temped to confirm this. It is always, bar one time, 2 days after my positive OPK.
