Ok so I always thought my periods are normal, but have come to realize after talking to other people and what not my periods are actually very heavy. I've always had clots and assumed that was normal, but the more I think about it and with each period I notice I have so many clots not like 5 or 10, but like 15 or 20 and they are large like quarter size or larger and def no smaller than a dime! My mom had cysts and endometriosis and had a partial hysterectomy by the time she was 30 and her sisters had endometriosis as well. Last night I was cramping so bad I almost started crying in the middle of the night when it woke me up. I was laying in fetal position trying to ease the pain so I could sleep. Then today they aren't bad at all just heavy bleeding and lots of clots.. So I'm going to call my dr and make my appt for my pap and ask him about it! I think I may have a lining that is way too thick and I read an imbalance in hormones can cause that? I think that's why I'm having a hard time getting pregnant.. Have you heard of this before?

I cramp like that every month. I have to climb in the bath 2-3 times at night its so bad. And my period is Heavy, but my dr doesnt think anything is wrong cuz i had a diagnostic lap and had no endo.

Heavy periods and painful cramps can be a sign of endometriosis, which can definitely cause infertility. I hope you and your doctor are able to get to the bottom of what is causing your symptoms and your problems conceiving.

On the heavy lining issue, though, please note that you absolutely can not tell how thick your lining is by how heavy your AF bleeding is. I always have very light periods so I thought that my lining was thin. I've had several ultrasounds during my Clomid cycles that revealed that my lining is actually very thick.

I've always had very heavy periods, e.g 2 weeks long with 2 days of 'flooding' happening since about 2 years ago.

I found out last year I have PCOS and the unnopposed eostrogen means my lining just builds up and up until it can't maintain and then sheds. Unfortunatley for me this (endometrial hyperplasia) has caused the cells to become abnormal and I'm on progesterone treatment for 6 months to try to reverse it.

I'm not saying by any means this is what's up with you as it seems to be fairly unusual but maybe worth asking about as it would need sorted. They diagnosed me as my lining was 17mm halfway through my period and 12mm even after a heavy bleed on Provera.

Aww I'm sorry! That can't be fun! I went to my dr he did blood work up, checked ovaries and uterus and did a pap. All was great and normal. He said what I was describing about my cycles were normal and great fora doctor to hear when someone is ttc. He said he honestly believe we're both healthy and normal and it will just take longer than some people. He said sometimes our body knows if it's not ready even if we think we are ready and not using contraception. He said he has a feeling he will be seeing me back soon! That helped a lot plus we told everyone were trying and I feel so much less stressed now. I feel like before I wasn't ready even though I thought I was because I was hiding it from people and didn't want them to know, but now I'm definitely ready and not stressed about it or so obsessed that it controls everything.

So glad you're feeling better about everything. I was worried I'd be scaremongering but just wanted to make sure you'd ruled out what is happening to me.

Good luck.x
