So my lo is super picky and has to have his bottles warm. He will not drink then chilled, room temp or even a little warm.
So I'm having a hard time when we are out and about toget him to drink his bottles because they aren't warm enough for his likings. I have bought a car bottle Warmer which was crap so I took it back and got my $20 back.
I try warming them before I leave but they are never still warm enough to where he will drink them.

What do you do? Is it normal for him for to so picky?

Dh suggested maybe getting a small thermos and put warm water in it and just carry enough powder around to mix a bottle up as needed and that way the water should stay warm enough while we are out.

Anyone else have this problem with lo?

Have you considered insulated bottle carriers? Also, you could pop in to a coffee shop/restaurant and ask them for a mug of warm water in which you can warm up LO's bottle. Hope this helps.

I have a bottle bag but its a 3 bottle bag and I don't need one that big. Maybe I need to look.

Fill a thermos with HOT water and put the bottle in the cup with said water.

Or stop at a coffee shop and ask them for a cup of hot water while holding the bottle. The water they provide is usually scalding so the bottle warms up pretty quickly.

Never mind.. I somehow missed part of your original post. Sorry bout that.

And I mentioned I bought one and it didnt work. Which I should have known because the ones I got with my other 2 didn't work either.

Yea I didn't see that part of your post some how

My girlfriend carries around a thermos full of hot water with her, so same thing a PP said.

I think that might be what I end up doing. I just have to find one that isn't so big and won't be a pain to carry around.

Tommie tippie do a bottle warming flask

I saw at Babies r Us a travel bottle warmer, i think you plug it in to your car lighter or power jack :)

That will change with time. For a long time my LO would only take them very warm (I'm naughty, use the microwave) now she will take room temp or even cold, especially when she's teething.

That's the one I bought but got it from target because it was a little cheaper. It made the bottle really really hot (way to hot) at the top but didn't warm it any where else enough to warm the milk. It was set on the 30 minute setting on high and by then time it was shutting off the milk was still not warm.
I use the microwave also my lo won't wait long enough esp at night for the bottle to warm up in hot water. So 35 seconds in the microwave then shake it and its done!! He has to have his really warm also.

I run a water bottle under hot water before we go somewhere for about 5-10 minutes. The smaller ones warm up faster, and they generally stay warm for us for over an hour. Don't have to buy anything special for this :)

I have a tommee tippee thermos which we fill with boiling water before we go out when she wants a feed I tip out some of the water in her bottle and top it back up with water from the flask then I add the powder, works perfect for us.

If you're going to a restaurant, or someplace with water, and access to a microwave, I'd make the bottle with room temp water. Then microwave a large mug of water (bring the large mug with you). You only need about two inches of water. Then, warm up the bottle for two minutes in the mug.

my car warmer is useless too. I have a travel mug that plugs into my car to keep water hot I use to warm milk instead.. I keep the playtex bottle liners in my diaper bag to warm the milk in bc it heats up so much quicker in those than a bottle and just pour it in the bottle. Plus if she needs more I can get it going before she finishes and avoid the I want more screams.

My lo is the same, it has to be hot, not warm or else he wont drink it. With ds1 who was the same we did as mrs england said: 2oz cooled boiled water in the bottle, thermos of boiling water, when needed pour 2oz water in, add powder and you have a hot bottle. Ds2 will only drink ready made formula so we struggle more with him, I found a prince lion heart bottle warmer yesterday, it heats anytime anywhere and I thought my answer was found. Its rubbish though so dont waste your money! X

I usually just ask someone in a coffee shop to get a bowl of hot water and heat it in that, takes just a few minutes xx

I had this problem with my first son, it was a nightmare when we were out trying to find somewhere to heat a bottle. I swore we'd never warm a bottle for our next baby. I did end up breaking the habit, one weekend I only offered room temp bottles. He was beyond ticked about it, threw a massive fit at each feeding, but by the end of the weekend he was taking room temp bottles and that problem was solved! Now with our youngest, I have only offered room temp bottles from the time we started giving bottles so that we wouldn't have to deal with that again.

We also take a thermos and a part filled bottle. We add the water from the thermos to the bottle and then add the powder.... Yes you have to carry a thermos, but you are not relying on finding hot water when out and about x

My dd would only drink ready to drink formula. So dh bought 2 6 packs of gentlease ready to drink formula from babies r us the other day because they were on sale and use them for "on the go" purposes, but I was thinking this morning since we ran out of powder (have to go but some today) how I I would get that warm. It's not likely for us to stop by somewhere to heat it up any type of way, and not that I would want to do that every time I'm out esp if I'm alone with all 3 kids.
Maybe I will get one of those soup thermos' they have at target for like kids lunch boxes and if I have ready to drink I will just stick it in there to warm up or pour the water in a bottle if I have powder.
