LO NOT drinking as much, but still thriving?

In the last few days, LO has been drinking about 30-50mls less than the minimum recommended for his weight -- but still wet/dirty nappies, cheerful, etc....should I be worried?

He was perhaps drinking TOO much (or at the higher level of drink for his age, until the heatspell last week) and he has only 'recovered' a bit more.........

We are using Colief in his bottles, burping him as per usual and he seems to cry when he 'finishes' his feed, but then use his dummy, change his nappy and he starts laughing, giggling, etc. (we have a routine of songs, etc., since he used to hate nappy changing -- now loves it!)

any ideas? HV was by last week and was very pleased with his weight gain.....

As long as he has a good amount of wet and dirty nappies, seems happy in himself and HV is pleased with his weight gain then he is thriving and I wouldnt worry if he is taking less than the guidlines, they are only approximations after all. xxx

My daughter never took the "recommended" amount based on the weight/age guidelines on the side of the carton. They are just rough guide amounts, nothing more As long as your LO is healthy, happy, having plenty of wet/dirty nappies and gaining, then it's most likely fine.

If you do get more concerned, best talk to your HV or GP

My LO is the same at the moment! She has been quite fussy when it comes to eating and a horror to feed, I do think she is teething.

When I did the calculation to see how much milk she should be drinking it worked out at about 35oz.. when in reality she drinks 18-22.... she sleeps through the night but I have expected her milk inake to increase as shes gotten older, its just stayed the same! She was having 4oz feeds at 4 weeks and now coming up to 15weeks is having between 4-5oz at each feed! X
