lo has started refusing milk the last few days. she will only drink her morning bottle of 7oz. shes 8 months old and was quite ill last week and didnt eat for 3 days and would only drink her bottles. now shes better and started eating again but refuses to drink her afternoon and bed time bottle. she cries even when she knows the bottle is coming. i dont no what to do because she hardly drinks water either and never really has, the most i can get her to drink is a couple of sips. she had a tooth cut last week but thats already come through and she was still drinking her bottles then so i dont think its teething related. her nappies today havn't been as wet so she obviously isn't having enough. im not sure what i can do? any help would be great, thanks. x

My Lo went through a phase like this after she was poorly at 6 months - it lasted 10 days! She just would have 3oz of any bottle then scream. No real reason why she did it - i think teething makes sucking more painful (but my LO has on just got a tooth). I just kept offering little and often.

Have you tried putting milk in a sippy cup or a doiddy cup? Or extra liquid in her food as she will get liquid that way.

She doesn't drink from a sippy cup. She hasn't got the hang of it yet. I try give her it throughout the day and she really doesn't want it. Ill add more liquid to her food so she is gettin something. Thanks. Hopefully its just a phase! I just thought it was strange when she was ill and was teething she still drunk milk but now she's better she won't lol

Omar also went through this phase at around 8 mnths, & he was only taking 10 oz in 24 hrs. I was offering him more yoghurt & cheese, as he doesnt like formula frm a sippy cup. His Dr. was not concerned as his weight gain was not affected. He's not a big drinker in general since he was tiny. Now he takes anything between 15-18 oz. xx

Mia's done that. She's on some solids too, but she's not interested in milk and watches everything else instead! I've just let her get on with it, kept trying, and eventaully she takes it. Now she's taking it much faster.
