If any of you like me are on the border please, I URGE you to make sure the doctor asks you where you want to deliver....Mine didn't and took the liberty to assume i'd want England but we want Wales and so I have to start completely again, and could be waiting till I am 14 - 18 weeks for a scan in Wales which I think is utter rubbish to be fair!!!!

Anyway I hope this helps someone, its too late for me, i'm well and truly in a pickle!!!!

Oh wow that sounds terrible =[ Sorry hun. Nice of you to give people a heads up !

I'm surprised at that, you'd think that the mw has enough people wanting to choose where to give birth. Where I am in S Wales I was asked which of the 2 usual hosps (one in Wales, the other in England) I wanted to go to.

That said a friend opted for the English hosp to give birth but had all her antenatal appts and scans at the Welsh one, which was standard procedure. Although, it was a little unhelpful at antenatal classes having a tour of the hosp she wasnt going to use, which didnt have the same facilities, such as birth pool, mibile epidural etc x

hi hun.. I am on the wales/england border, which hospital do you want?

Last time round my dr sent me to the wrong hospital - and in the end - I had my scans at one - then transfered to the other - I was told to make sure my last lot of bloods were taken at teh second hospital - else they would have taken an additional set- to confirm my blood group as they would not trust another hospital - very odd but there we go :)

Hope it all works out for you soon :)

I have lived in Shropshire for 3 years but before then Powys for all of my life so naturally I wanted a Welsh born baby but the doc never asked me where I wanted to deliver. My only real option for a Welsh born baby is Wrexham as my local one is too small in case something happens - I would get taken to the nearest English Hosp that way.

I'm not really fussed that its takinga long time to sort out i'm just frustrated that no - one asked me, i should of known following my rubbish 1st doc consultation that something was wrong - I was in and out in less than 10 mins!!!!

Ahh i see.

I am on the chester/flintshire border.

when I had my youngest ds just 9 months ago, on my inital docs appointment, they presumed I was going to glan clwyd in denbighshire, but I had to tell him no I wanted wrexham. the doc looked at me like i was wierd. baring in mind from my home both hospitals are the same distance.

in the end I had to contact wrexham hospital myself to book in. was a huge pain.

god knows what will happen when I go to the docs this time. xxx

Luclylu, i am under Wrexham so might see you in there in March :o) Hope you get this sorted out asap xx
