When pregnant with my son I had the placenta at the front and still felt a lot of movements. Now the placenta is at the back and already I´m feeling my baby girl SO much! I love it! :cloud9:

I was just wondering - those that have the placenta at the back (in previous pregnancies or now and are further along) is it a huge difference?? Will the movements become extreme later on? Kinda want that because I looove feeling my baby move but I am also a bit nervous about trying to get some sleep... :haha:

It definitely makes a difference!!! With my first I had an anterior placenta and it def masks some of the movements - thank goodness he was my first otherwise I would have been terrified!!!! With my second I had a posterior placenta and I felt her earlier and felt so much more movement with her!

Enjoy the movements xx

Im not that far yet with my second, but Im in the same boat as you! I felt a lot with my son with an anterior, but at the end it got to the point where it would hurt sometimes when he moved. The placenta with this baby is low, so Im feeling and seeing kicks from the outside at 16 weeks. I can only imagine how this is going to go... LOL!

How do you know where the placenta is lying? Do they tell you at your 20 week scan because i haven't got there yet few more weeks.

My placenta is very far back. My doctor looked when I told her I was feeling LOTS of movement since 15 weeks and a little movement at 11 weeks. She said OF COURSE I'm feeling all that movement; the baby is SO close! This is my first, so I don't know how it will be next time. However, since 19 1/2 weeks, we've been able to feel movements and light kicks from the outside as well. I think that's probably because my baby is growing ahead of schedule.

With my first my placenta was at the back and I felt so much movement and with this one my placenta is at the front and I was told I would only feel movement at the sides and bottom.. so not true!! I'm 26 weeks and feel her all over! Can't remember if they are as strong as with my son as that was 3 years ago hehe!

xx

With my first I had a posterior placenta. I felt her extremely early and it got to where it hurt really bad at the end. With this one the placenta is anterior. I didn't feel her start moving consistantly until about 19 weeks. And you find out at your 20 week scan. Just ask where your placenta is lying.
