I had a whirlpool 6th sense condenser dryer, it broke 2 days back. I bought it 4 yrs back only. When the repair guy came he told me that the heating system broke & it would cost me loads for the spare part with 3 months warranty only! It's working fine but with no heat. So it didn't break because of misuse or overload.

I was happy with it, but I don't want to buy the same brand as I think those things should last longer?

Any recommendations for a good condenser dryer? I'm looking for 6+ kgs

I have a hot point ultimate ctd80, it's a 7kg condenser and I love it. It has the 'set and forget' thing so you switch it on, select the option (high usually lol!) and it stops when everything is dry, it's great! As long as you empty the filters regularly etc its fine, mine is about 6 years old now. We replaced the pump at one point, but I just ordered the part on line and oh fitted it, so it wasn't expensive at all :)

Ive just recently bought a BEKO Condenser tumble dryer which had great reviews and a B energy rating which is excellent for a Dryer. It cost me £240 and is really wonderful! It has sensor drying so cuts out when your clothes are dry so never drys for longer than is needed :)

I have an indesit condenser 8kg dryer. I dry everything on "high" and have never had a problem. Also has sensor drying. Love it!

We have a Bosch. My darling bro in law bought us it and it's been amazing.

Bosch as a brand is amazing. I am living it what was my parents house and the washer and dryer here are going on 10 years old and still going strong! Not sure how much it takes weight wise but if it gives you and idea it will take all the bedding off three super king size beds in one wash with a few bits like knickers and socks thrown in too. I can't get away with putting that much in the dryer at once obviously- my mum told me you put half what you put in the washer in the dryer and sometimes things still come out a little damp but OK after another quick spin.

Probably the kiss of death right there! :p

Bosch is probably the one to go for if you can't stretch your budget to something like Miele.

We have a Siemens. Paid quite a bit, about £800 but its fab and no probe in four year. Clothes come out crease free
