How did you pick your LO's name?? And how did you tell people? I dont really know how OH and i did. Our LO's name is Mikah Eli James Doerksen
Mikah - we just liked the sound of it also only one we could agree on lol, but it means "who is like god"
Eli - I was set on Eli as a middle name, it means "the offering or lifting up"
James - Was my grandad's name and i really wanted to have his name tied into my first sons name - also happened to be OH's grandad's name. It means "one who supplements"
Doerksen- Is OH's last name
I never realized all his names are biblical, but i like the sound of all of them together.
We have had this name picked out for Months, we recently told people on christmas, my mom BEGGED to know, so i had over 100 slips of paper and wrote random thing on some, and left some blank and one had his name on it, we put it in a gift bag for xmas, and she opened it then, there was well over 100 slips of paper, folded and taped :) She enjoyed opening them all and was excited to hear the name, my step dad was suprised we came up with a name that didnt suck lol.
we texted OH's family ( they live 8 hrs away and we dont see them often ) but we told everyone on christmas, was a secret before then :)

Ages ago [before we were going out] we were discussing the future etc some how we decided we WERE going to have children together << thats what being 14/15 does to you haha.

We decided if we ever had a boy he would be called Samuel, so when we found out we were having a little baby boy, it seemed kinda right. Samuel's having the same middle name as his daddy as my OH is named after his dad [we both hate his name lol so decided to keep the tradition but with middle name instead] and then his last name too as I think OH feels more involved that way, plus I hope to marry him at some point, and then were all be the same :)

We also checked name meanings too, didnt want him having a name that meant killer or something lol xxx

Her name is a secret! But the first name is Irish, the middle name is English and also my mums name (she doesnt know this yet!) and the last name is Italian (OH's last name).

me and my mom picked a boys name and a girls name at dinner one day, we jus threw ideas around and decided on a name for each sex. then when it was a girl, i told everyone the sex and that her name would be sophie grace! now everyone calls her her name, i love it :)

before i was pregnant i had just said if we ever had a baby and it was a girl i would like the name georgie for a middle name then when i found i was pregnant i said i would like the name lillie as it was my mums maiden name but didnt want it as a first name as it is to common nowadays (her surname is johnson so really didnt want a common first name with a common last name lol) so oh said he wanted his nanas name so it was decided lillie ann would be her middle names but wasnt sure of a first name so i had sat and wrote lists of names i like for him to look through and after all that he said he couldnt imagine a name apart from georgia so thats how it came about. as for telling ppl it was just when ppl asked just told them and alot of people wern't keen but its tough haha

Umm with Jaymee her Name Middle name was set in stone from the time I was a Child, I always said if I had a little girl her Middle name would be Elizabeth. And Jaymee I had picked out before I was even pregnant with her.

As for this Baby I still dont know the name 100% OH gets to name him/her and he changes the name so often I honestly Dont know what this babys name will be , All i know for sure is Katherine for a girls first name . Issac for a Boys middle name thats all i know

My OH picked out his first name (Caden - meaning "spirit of battle"). Apparently it's a rather common name but we both never heard it before and went with it. It's a strong name with a strong meaning and it just fit in my mind. I never really bought into that whole "name your kid something unique / never name your kid a common name" BS lol.

As for his middle name (Gabriel), it was my grandfather's middle name. He passed away last year from severe Alzheimer's disease. I was the last person he remembered and he was my absolute best friend in the world. It just felt right giving my son a part of his name.

As for telling everyone his name, I never really told it to anyone unless they asked. I kinda just put it out there, like on Facebook.

:flower:

I have a huge name fascination and am part of a naming forum so I had a huge list of names I liked way before I was pregnant. Both OH and I like names that are real and have a withstanding history (not like Brayden, Jayden, Jackson, etc, which have only surfaced in the past 15 years or so and don't go back hundreds or thousands of years).

We whittled it down to Phineas pretty quickly. We knew we wanted something with a nickname and we were down to either Phineas or Alasdair. We couldn't decide on a good nickname for Alasdair though. We both liked Finn and thought it made an uncommon name more approachable. It's "tradition" in OHs family to name a baby after a family member and OH has a Phineas....way back somewhere (his mom does genealogy). I liked it from the novel "A Separate Peace".

Matthew is my father's name.

We told everyone his first name quickly, we had decided on it before the anatomy scan.
we kept his middle name secret though until he was born.
If we had a girl...the naming process would have been longer. She would have been either Sylvia or Edith, probably Sylvia, but we could not decide on a middle name.

I have been thinking of baby names since forever. I just love picking out names. I have had lists and lists of names. So when I got pregnant I lowered the list down to 10 of each gender and then me and my OH took a name off it each day to keep lowering it. We picked out a boys name REALLY fast we agreed on it right away, but of course I was having a girl and we just couldn't agree. We got our list down to 4 names and then I put them in order from 1 to 4 and he did the same. Well my #1 was his #4 and his #1 was my #4 so we took those 2 names off. We finally decided on my #2 which was Jayden Elizabeth.

I only told people when they asked me and I put it on my myspace.

I have always, always liked the name Victoria. I have no idea why, I just think it's beautiful. And I like the nickname Tori a lot. Growing up I never 'picked out' my children's names. A few month before I fell pregnant Zach and I started talking about baby names for the future and I told him how much I loved Victoria. Actually, no. At first I really wanted to name her Richelle but OH hated that name and now that I look at my LO she could never be a Richelle. Anyways, so I told him that I loooved Victoria 'Tori' and he loved it too! Originally it was going to be Victoria Ann but then we decided that her first name ending with an A and her middle name starting with an A was strange so it was back to the books for her middle name. One day out of no where I was listening to one of my favorite singers and her middle name is Noëlle, so I thought to myself, "Hmm... Victoria Noëlle..." And it just clicked, I loved it. I texted OH and he was crazy about it too! Now I know Noëlle is really for Christmas babies and I have a November baby, but I don't really care, I love it! So when we found out she was a girl, I was super happy. And she took OH's last name so her full name is Victoria (Tori) Noëlle Travis. If I had had a little boy his name would've been Nicholas (Nick) Zachary Travis, taking his father's first name as his middle name. So if I ever decide to have more children and it's a boy that'll be his name but if I have a girl, I might call her Nikki but I'm not sure! Oh and Victoria is Latin and means "victorious" and Noëlle is French and it means "day of birth". And Tori will be her only nick name, if someone called her Vikki, oh man, would I correct them, I am not a fan of that name, no offense to anyone that goes by Vikki of course! Anyways, long but that's my story! Oh and I never kept her name a secret, lol. :flower:

me and oh were trying for 5 months before we got our :bfp: so we were name picking for ages lol took us about 8 months to get Lo's name as we're really picky, we've already picked the name for our next lo if its a girl and are still looking for boys names :haha:

Her name is going to be Maddison, we haven't desided on a middle name yet. It was either going to be Maddison or Courtney. But maddison sounds more girly.

We haven't told any family or friends, we are going to wait until she is born and then send a picture message with her name and everything on to close family and friends and then the news will get around :)

My LO's name is Kenzie Shae Hunt

Ive always LOVED the name Kenzie so i knew that his name as soon as i found out he was a boy! FOB doesnt like it not too bothered considering he hasnt been there much. Shae because i liked the sound of it with Kenzie :) and Hunts my last name. I text my mum the name i chosen the day of my 20week scan, and all my friends pretty much knew before :]

Love the name you've picked for your LO btw :) xx

Well i had loadsss of boys names and only one girls name Lilah-Rose (Like Lilly, not Lyla or Layla) So when i found out it was a girl, thats what her name would be... So i thought. But then i started looking at names and ended up with loads! Lilah-Rose was always an option all the way through but others were Miley, Blossom, Maya, Bella, Freya... Well cut a long story short at about 36weeks i decided there and then it was Ellsey-Mae! Everyone was shocked seen as it had never even been on the lists but there we go!

Baby number 2 is going to be named after OH if he is a boy. Not because i want to but because OH says no matter what he's name is, he is still going to call him Spencer. What really can i say to that! Lol. And havent even thought about girls names because im so sure its a boy! xx

My sons name was supposed to Vincent arthur After my grandfathers but When I held my son he did not look like either so He became Lane. My mellow happy boy.

Oh and Vinteenage I love your sons name, its soo adorable!

Jack Christopher Aaron Marks.

OH actually suggested it one night when my dad was asking us about names, we wanted a true English name as I have an Indian name and I HATE IT; and OH's family are proud to be English lol. It was a toss up between Jack or Leo but Jack won hands down. :)
Christopher is after my dad he doesn't know yet! Aaron is after OH's best mate of like 25 years and his god father to be! And Marks is the surname. :)

We looked through a baby name book and agreed on the name Dahlia. I choose the middle name Natasha just because I thought it was pretty.
