losing the mummy tummy..

ive never been one to exercise, but since having my little one i have quite a wobbly tummy, my belly button looks gross and i just want to tone up. whats the best way to do this?
 
If you have any weight to lose, that helps (eating healthy and watching calories etc...)- if it's just toning, then lots of core work. Not just sit-ups/crunches, but planks, burpies, reverse crunches... basically getting strength around the entire mid-section all to help support your core. I take gym classes- but I'm sure there are DVD's out there for core training. Overall resistence and weights would be good too- since more muscle helps burn fat and tone you overall.

I've heard that higher impact work-outs are also good for the core. I know I can feel things working more when I take Step or Zumba... since I'm not a runner! ;)
