Lotion like cm before or after ovulation?

Hiya ladies.

Just checked my CM and it's quite smooth and like lotion consistency, does this occur before or after ovulation generally? I've been poorly this week and we have only BD twice so worried about missing ovulation. I'm not using opks as we are only on cycle 2 ttc.

Think your CM becomes almost like watery and then clear stretchy before ovulation then after ovulation occurs your CM goes back to being a creamy lotion like CM..

Sounds like it's getting close!

Thanks for replying .. hopefully we will catch ovulation then as I'm starting to feel slightly better. Never thought checking my cervix would be so confusing lol! Xx

Do you chart? That would help to confirm ovulation.. Keep checking your CM when it gets watery start DTD!!

I agree with what rustyswife828 said! Usually watery or egg white before and during ovulation and creamy or dry after ovulation.. For me I usually dry up for a couple days after I ovulate unless I'm pregnant, then it goes straight to creamy!

Checked again this morning and its very creamy! and there is quite a lot of it. Hoping its a good sign as i have read this is the stage before EWCM ... Still not sure on position etc, but i'm sure that will become easier to recognize over the next month or so.

I've just started charting, but no temping or OPK's (yet )
