Water doesnt have to be boiling - boiled yes, maybe leave it for half an hour max before adding powder - as you say its to kill of any bacteria that may be in the powder.

If it is made up it should be used within 2 hours- I think! I know folk make them up and store in fridge - then use within 24hrs.

Sterilising bottles is recommended particularly for newborn babies.

The 2 ways you asked about - water with double powder, put in fridge, then add boiling water later and using room temp water if baby is desperate for a feed - I know many folk do it these ways and have done for a long time.

It is recommended that you boil water, add powder and make each bottle fresh when you need it though!:flower:

1. water needs to have been boiled first, I usually try and time it so its been half an hour other wise its far too hot and takes ages to cool down.

2. I think it has to be used within 2 hours, its due to bacteria growing. However a lot of mums make up their milk and put it in the fridge, if you put you child in a crashe thats what they do (i think).

3. In the UK its adviced that you sterilise the bottles for the babies first year

4. what i sometimes do it put boiled water in the fridge and when baby wants milk will boil the kettle then add the hot water to the bottle until its the right temprature ... then add the milk, i personally dont like the idea of putting the powder in first but thats up to you.

Not sure how adviced this method is its its what works best for me.

5 . sorry dont understand what your asking

6. some people feed babies milk at room temperature, thats up to you, i would imagine you would need to don one or the other or baby wont take it. however as long as water has been previously boiled that should be fine.
