I was just told today that my AMF was only 1.12 and that I only had 8 little follies at the beginning of my cycle. Also my estrogen was over 130 and the my FSH was 3.6

I have done two IUI's with Clomid because DH's sperm count is lower than 6million. I recently told my RE that I didn't want to do any more IUI's with such a low count, and that I thought we should move to IVF. I have heard several different opinions...with an AMH of at least 1, then I should be ok...or I have also heard that I need to have an AMH of at least 2. I am only 32, and an AMH of 1.12 is normal for a 40 year old woman.

Anyone know of any ways to increase AMH and decrease Estrogen? I have no idea why my estrogen was so high...and the doctor couldn't tell me any reasons either.

Any advice?? Can I even ever get pregnant with all of these problems??

Hi hun and sorry for the bad news :hugs:

I cant answer all your questions but i am pretty sure you cannot change your AMH as that number doesnt fluctuate, i.e. it doesnt go up and down such as FSH does. AMH measures your current stores of eggs by measuring a substance the follicles gives out. So if low number, low number of follicles i.e. low number of eggs.

I would definitely go back to the dr and have that double checked because if that is your actual number you are looking at premature ovarian failure at your age. However, your egg quality would be good so that is in your favour! In either case, make your dr work for you.

Im no expert on estrogen and according to some googling there is some diagreement between dr's as to whether having high estrogen but normal fsh levels poses any problems at all to fertility so i guess the jury is out...

If i were you i would definitely have that amh checked again, not to mention the fsh and estrogen as well. Apparently there is a chance of cysts that can be the reason for hightened estrogen, but you would have to be checked for that too obviously.

Here's a list of AMH levels https://www.drmalpani.com/amh.htm

This is not all fluffy kittens and rainbows...im sorry, lol! Essentially, you should be able to get pg because you have good eggs and it only takes one egg and one sperm...or so they keep telling us :)

Btw, im on the IVF at the moment and i do have the AMH of 40 year old woman - but then again i am 41, lol!! :)

Good luck and let us know how you get on!!

:hugs: xxx
