Low fetal heartrate 14 weeks

My midwife struggled to find my baby's heartbeat on Tuesday and she was on my heartbeat at one point. She had to put her finger on my pulse to check it was definitely not baby's - I knew it wasn't. I find my baby's heartbeat so easily all the time but I think that's because I can generally just tell where the baby is, I know which side this baby prefers and I'll also spend a lot longer looking. They obviously have time restrictions. Plus my midwife's doppler is so old and crappy! I was almost tempted to ask her if she wanted me to pop home and get mine! But I also had a consultant at the hospital look for my son's heartbeat at around 14 weeks and she couldn't find it. She was looking for absolutely ages so had to send me for a scan. All was fine x

My MW wont even check at 16 week appt for heartrate as she said it's really hard to find.

At 13+3 my doctor's office couldn't find baby's HB on their doppler (they found mine!!) 2 nurses tried. I am "fluffy" as well :) I have a home doppler that I got since 10 weeks and tried 3 times before that doc appt and couldn't find HB so I stopped trying as to not drive myself nuts. I always find my HB which is 80 - 100 depending. Your nurse found your HB.
My doctor did a quick ultrasound and we saw LO doing flips and the heart flickering away. My doctor said "baby is still small and in very deep." I joke and said "I know doc i'm fat!" lol I think it's just harder to find HB on us "fluffy" gals sometimes especially if the doppler doesn't have the right frequency probe.
