My husband and I haven't been trying "officially", though we have been trying nonetheless to get pregnant for the past 6 months. I got what appeared to be my period a few weeks ago but then I started spotting lightly the week after my period which was causing me some concern. We decided to take a pregnancy test and we were pregnant! Went to the doctors the following day to get a confirmation that we were going to indeed be having our first child. The doctor said (after he had me do a pee pregnancy test which came back barely positive) that I needed bloodwork done to confirm my pregnancy. To sum it up, the doctor was leaning toward a MC because according to when we "thought" the baby might have been conceived did not add up to why my hcg levels were low. The next day my hcg came back 33. The doctor at this point was not even encouraging me that we were going to have a baby. I took another blood test. My hcg came back 38. The doctor is "pretty sure you do not have a viable pregnancy" and that I should be having my MC in about a week or so but he still wants me to do yet another blood test after this holiday weekend coming up. Has anyone had a similar situation and did it end up with good news? This is so stressful and heartbreaking!
