Low lying placenta at 28 weeks

I found out at my 20 week scan that my placenta was low lying, quite common so I have been told!

I have been booked for another scan to check this at 34 weeks but went for a 4D scan today and thought it might have moved by now but it hasn't.

The tech said it looked quite low :0(

Does this mean it's unlikely to move up?

Here is our boy, he is head down aswell which she said is good https://m1056.photobucket.com/albumvi...4.jpg.html?o=0

Xx

I had marginal previa at 20 weeks and was just rechecked at 28 weeks. Mine had moved out of the way completely, but I was told prior to the ultrasound that if it was still in the way they would check again in a few weeks. You still have a chance that it will move. Also, my tech told me that anterior placentas (mine is anterior) are more likely to move than posterior ones, so that might be something to consider, too. Good luck!

I have a scan tomorrow for growth reasons so will ask then to see if it has moved. I do have posterior placenta :0(

Thanks for your reply and I'm glad yours moved x

I didn't have previa but my placenta was right over my section scar.
Scan at 28 weeks showed it hadn't moved but 3 weeks later at 31 weeks it had moved right out of the way.
Just goes to show they can move quite a bit in a short space of time x

HI,
I had a low lying placenta with my previous pregnancy and mine moved up at 36 weeks....There is still time - good luck x

Mine was low lying at 19 weeks, due to be rescanned at 32.
At my 4D scan last wk, baby was head down using placenta as a pillow & its now totally covering my cervix :-(
