While my doctor acknowledged that my progesterone levels were on the low side (5.42), she said that they indicate I'm ovulating. So she doesn't want to do anything about it right now. I'm concerned that my eggs are not "strong" enough, and that's why my cycles are shorter (25 days) and my progesterone was low.
On another note, it has been confirmed through two tests (an ultrasound and HSG) that I have a heart-shaped (bicornuate) uterus. I also had an MRI last week to triple-check this diagnosis, but I don't have those results yet. From everything I've read online, this shouldn't affect my fertility. It just might result in some complications during pregnancy. If I ever get pregnant!
So after I had the HSG last week, which showed both of my tubes are open, my doctor just wants to wait for 3 months to see if I get pregnant. I'm not a huge fan of this plan. I understand that she said clomid might not be very successful since I'm already ovulating, but I feel like I've been playing the "wait and see" game for the last year.
I want to ask her about rechecking my progesterone or maybe trying progesterone supplements.
I have an appointment with a fertility specialist scheduled, but it's not until August. I was hoping my ob/gyn could help me before then.
Anyone else have a bicornuate uterus? Anyone have any advice/feedback for me?
Thanks!
